A few people have shared this here today, so I thought I’d post it.

ANYWAY, did you know there's an extension you can put on Chrome that will connect with your local library system and when you go look at a book, say on AMZ, it will tell you if that book exists in the library system and if it's available? It's literally called Library Extension.

Apathy is contagious, but so is empathy.

Hey, artists, in case you were wondering if your work matters: I'm a scientist working on climate change and biodiversity, and I would not be who I am today without The Lorax, The Secret of NIMH, Watership Down, The Last Unicorn, and The X-Files. I know I'm not alone. Thank you for all you do.

While the chaos spins all around us, I’m leaning into creative practice to help alleviate anxiety and fuel hope in possibilities. Currently working on this paper mache installation and, lemme tell ya, it’s no joke. So many steps! But grateful for the outlet.

@nikitagill.bsky.social always knows how to stir my hopes while poignantly breaking my heart. Exquisite. Timely.

Friday morning coffee read w/ @hollybecker.bsky.social. Made me so wistful for the good old days of early social media. And while there's much to be said about the toxicity, I am also most grateful for the longtime (15+ years!) connections and friendships I've made with people I first "met" online.

Scribbles says, "Happy Friday, all y'all!" ☕ I mean, she could be yawning or screaming – both are certainly appropriate, right now – but let's go with, "Yay, Friday!"

I’ve been fortunate to travel widely in my life. Of all the places I’ve been, a handful had a special hold on me. Nova Scotia, Ireland, and Japan are definitely on that list. But of all places, something about Mexico resonates so deeply for me. Like I’m home when I’m there. What about you?

I know we’re at our wits end with social media. It’s hard to find respite, inspiration, and connection in the wake of everything happening. All to say, for me, that my intent here is just to offer a small breathing space. Moments of beauty or joy or goodness shared to offer up some light and hope.

So, I guess I'm officially here. 🦋
