1 many UScities are simply too spread out to make walking practical.
2 most cities don't have strong public transportation
Work is 18 miles(29km) it would take about 2.5 hours to get there on public transportation. Driving, is45 minutes. Nearest inexpensive groceries are about 3.5.

Eh I goto bars at airports, just cuz your at a bar doesn't mean your getting drunk. A margarita and a burger or some nachos is just a good way to relax on that long 2hour layover.
Hour doesn't really factor in.
And yes most airport bars will happily serve food there...

So what's your spec on a daiquiri?
I find that a lot of folks have their own tweaks in the standard they use when making their own drinks... for example I love zBrambles, but my personal spec has wandered sooo far off, that it's it's own thin now, lol

I love mixing drinks. I don't know a whole lot about tiki as a hobby(or is it a lifestyle), but I do know it's pretty darn fun.
