I see what you did there. And I see your newfound Hollywood writer fame hasn't aged your boyish humor a bit!
You stay you, my friend.

I noticed DeepSeek was conspicuously absent.
...which is weird for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is China's pretty solid relationship with Russia.

Cosigned. And it's hidden within the lie of the dominant unifying narrative of this country.

Dude! That's amazing!
Honestly, in today's market, I kinda feel you pulled off a miracle!

I didn't care for most of the rest of the movie, but I thought The Postman explored this pretty well with the Tom Petty charqcter.

I am in a similar situation, on YouTube with higher views, but about the same income.
I guess I just present my dream for the future as a possible reality such that collaborators may eventually join and we accomplish said dream.
But as you said, within capitalism, this is not a trivial problem.

Hahahaha.
I fully support this response. Well played!

For me, it's better since I prefer to eat at home. But you do you.
Regardless, props on your taste for amazing hotdog-like things.

They are for sale in bulk at Costco Business Center. But bring a coat because they're in that giant refrigerator thing.

I love dogs.
But one could argue that dogs are part of a fascist regime where you were the dictator. That is kind of central to their underlying pack mentality.

Those of us in independent film are working on a third option where we control the means of production and distribution.
Perhaps there's space for something like that in the music world?

I appreciate your argument. Thank you for sharing it.
I think exploitation/coercion is worse because than the exploited person has the emotional burden of believing that they are at fault for their exploitation.
But I think we're in agreement that they are both bad, which was my point.

I use A LOT of stock footage in my movies/shows and it was really depressing to see AI generated video pawned off as valid stock footage.

I bring up Spotify, etc, because it's pretty much stealing from artists as well. People seem fine with it. I'm glad it seems you're not okay with. Neither am I.

Thank you. I'm being genuine as I'm currently wrestling with what to do about it.
It seems to me what you're wrestling with regarding the environmental impact is the U.S. implementation. DeepSeek (and other China spinoffs) don't have that impact issue.

Yes....
except, we have ALWAYS been the bad guys. If you'd like a primer, read my novel www.DeathRowBookClub.com

I couple questions:
1. If the AI had been trained off of work they'd paid to have access to, would that change the equation for you?
2. How is this fundamentally any different than Spotify or other music streaming services which pretty much steal from artists?

I agree with you.
But... I also think we're cultural abnormalities. So...

You're right.
It's so common they even have a term for it to normalize it, "collateral damage."

Thanks. I'm glad you made it fair.
I was considered that an increase in price, or only via the university system, would exclude a great many talented, but not-rich people.

Will submissions have to pay the fee to keep them on your site, or will it be a one-time submission fee?

What a tragically beautiful response.
I would love to watch a story about the resistance to that hammering.

I hope they name their dogs "Pig" because of the movie with the same name.

That may not be true.
In my early writing days, I was taking a creative writing course—the professor asked me to take my story (which all the students loved) and make it non-genre.
I think authors like PKD, Bradbury, and sometimes William Gibson seriously blur the genre lines, in a good way.

I've been having chats with some liberals recently. They're talking about physically dragging politicians (and their cronies) out into the streets to face justice.
Things are getting dark and VERY real.
P.S. I'm a pacifist, so this solution doesn't sit well with me.
