Id be willing to bet that “combative” would be weighted higher as deciding factor of popularity over political spectrum movement. Now this has its limits. Obvi a hard push right is gonna be toxic but I think dem voters would be willing to get behind anyone with fight

Please, please I’m begging you. No more. This post killed my tiny son made of sand. Washed him away.

Schumer has been deceptive and tried to play us for fools. Thinking we wouldn’t understand the weak “amendment” attempt was cover for capitulating to the GOP. There are people who won’t live to see Schumer’s age because of his inability to meet the moment. Personally I’m over being nice.

Thanks for being on the leading edge of this. You were one of the first legislators standing up to DOGE by physically showing up. I’m sure much of this is learning on the fly - so thank you.

In the most obvious way possible. ALL our electeds need to pay attention to this moment. Passivity won’t continue to be rewarded with a ticket to DC

He’s okay. The passiveness on display leading up to this moment is enough to convince me that he should be challenged. That’s what makes democracy great. If he wants to be re-elected. Act like it. I will 100% cheer on our legislators when they make good decisions.
comment in response to post
I won’t disagree with that assessment! However I don’t think this is a season for “read between the lines” type politicking. The fact that they’ve both been fairly passive *until now* is grounds for a challenge. Mind, I’ll cheer on any positive decision they make.

Fuck you - fuck The NY Times. You all sit on your hands while our country is being dismantled. Enjoy your recess I guess.

I’m so tired of the failures of the MODERATE dems being placed at the feet of the “left” They need to clean their own goddamn house. Deal with dumbasses like Gavin Newsome platforming crypto fascists before they worry about “the left”

No theory of change except “do a revolution now”
comment in response to post
I don’t disagree. I see the timeline like this: people saw the value of DemSocialism c2016 - DSA membership spiked, momentum builds, then that gets squandered by infighting due to a small # of ultraleftists who screeched a campist orthodoxy, ran everyone off, and provided no theory of change.

The only way this is redeemed is if they’re hitting the “DX Suck It” crotch chop in a human wave pattern

Yeah this was a breaking point for me - along with the flirtation w/ pro Assad voices and talking points (like Grayzone or mint press) Denouncing political allies like AOC. Pretty much just behaving in a way that showed no real desire for building power. Always critique. Never win

Agreed, but for most people, there is a measurable difference in supporting businesses that don’t siphon money out of your community, suppress wages, and turn everything into a Dollar General. Also encouraging offline people to think about their relationships to goods and labor is a net positive.
comment in response to post
Its wild. So many accounts that love to critique are just mad that offline people are doing something they only post about.

Its definitely shaping up to be March…..madness 🤨

Arguably better than the Biden admin dumping billions of dollars worth of subsidies into Musk owned businesses. 🤷🏻‍♂️
comment in response to post
Nuance is fair! I can rephrase. The MAJORITY of his career he’s criticized the MIC and when past stances like “tough on crime” were identified as regressive, he’s changed his stances. Im not arguing he is perfect. I don’t care about that. OPs attack is just disingenuous in light of everything else.
comment in response to post
No he’s not uniquely principled - he just has principles. I’m sure Biden does too. They’ve both evolved politically since then. You threw out a “gotcha” about Bernie’s past but my point was that when you put it in context is doesn’t have much to do with what we are currently talking about.
comment in response to post
If he’s always been a threat then why the hell has our govt been subsidizing his business ventures since 2010
comment in response to post
Again let me point to the entire federal govt under the Biden admin was handing out contract after contract to him. This thread is ignoring that BEFORE this for years Bernie warned us about billionaires like Musk and the Dem party kept getting into bed with them when convenient. Its cherry picking
comment in response to post
This feels like a rabbit trail but whatever. The 90s was not a good time for carceral policy. Even Biden teamed up with the most racist dude in Congress to pass that crime bill. Principles include changing when you realize you’re wrong. I think that both of them supporting this is bad actually.

Not to be an ass but Sander’s tweet was from December 1st. No one was “fighting back” against Elon because none of this had happened yet. That’s why I’m on about how disingenuous of an attack against Sanders this is.
comment in response to post
Also acting like a Jewish man who has ties to the Holocaust doesn’t know the difference between Elon and Adolph is tone deaf as hell
comment in response to post
I get what you’re saying, but, a one off bank shot trying to redirect populist energy towards corruption is SIGNIFICANTLY different than PRAISING him fundamentally like the OP is suggesting. That tweet didn’t put Musk in power and both parties have been funding Musks bullshit for years.
comment in response to post
That’s perfectly fine. Enjoy your weekend.

Friend I’m an equal opportunity ranter. I will yell at republicans, democrats, and leftists. What irritates me more than anything is the lack of nuance and clearly disingenuous arguments which are vibrantly on display both in the original post and in your response trying to Nazi jacket a Jewish man

Take your straw man and shove it up your ass because it’s clear to anyone with a brain that’s not what he’s doing here.
