The Trump administration intends to deport a Harvard scientist back to Russia, government lawyers told a federal judge on Wednesday. The scientist fled the country in 2022 and fears she will be arrested there over her protest of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Putin has no ideology; he is, in fact, an intellectually unsophisticated person. His entire political worldview rests on two very simple narratives. 1/9

Russia’s position explained: “We are not interested in negotiations. We want to annihilate Ukraine. We pretend to negotiate so that Trump/others are fooled into believing we want peace. We only agree to terms that enable us break the deal later.”

MORE: Senior Kremlin officials continue to set informational conditions that could support military operations against Lithuania (and other NATO states) by advancing narratives that deny the sovereignty of Lithuania and other former Soviet states. isw.pub/UkrWar050325

@RSF.org annual press freedom ranking is out today, Norway is nr 1. Estonia is nr 2 in press freedom in the world. JD Vance attacked Europe over freedom of expression, yet all of Europe is far ahead of the US, which came in at nr 57 between Sierra Leone and Gabon pressgazette.co.uk/news/rsf-mov...

It takes a massive brass neck to have your administration attack another president for being disrespectfully dressed in a meeting and then turn up to the pope's funeral in a blue suit.

French President Emmanuel Macron said today that Vladimir Putin is “lying” about his desire to peacefully end the war in Ukraine, pointing to the Kremlin’s massive attack on Kyiv earlier in the day that left at least eight people dead.

The reality 👇

The best defense against fascism is critical thinking and knowledge, and Trump will stop at nothing to prevent the American people from gaining it. Now, Trump’s regime has declared war on education. www.adammockler.com/p/trump-decl...

It seems Tesla is detecting vehicles that may have problems, and artificially running their odometers faster so the warranty expires before they have to do any service Just incredible grift

The US has blocked a G7 statement to condemn Russia for its Palm Sunday missile attack on Ukraine's city of Sumy, which killed at least 35 people and injured over 100, including children. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Austria’s security services (DSN) have uncovered a Russian disinformation operation, coordinated through a Bulgarian intermediary. The campaign aimed to discredit Ukraine in German-speaking countries by deploying fake pro-Ukraine content embedded with extremist cues to manipulate perception. 1/6

Ukraine agreed, with the United States, to a complete ceasefire for 30 days. Russia rejected this ceasefire and increased its attacks on Ukrainian civilians. The United States then imposed an unjustified 10% tariff on Ukraine and no tariff on Russia. Trump is a Russian asset.

Leading scientists at the US National Institutes of Health were swept up Tuesday in the Trump administration’s latest firing blitz. Among them is Dr. Richard Youle, known for his groundbreaking research identifying mechanisms behind Parkinson’s disease.

Someone is running a circle spoofer pointing to Null Island (lat 0°, lon 0°). Circle spoofers were first documented in China (Shanghai iirc?), later by me and @giammaiot.bsky.social in Mersin, Turkey. This one discovered by @claudialanz.bsky.social The tracks of those ships ought to show origin.

UPDATE: “Tim Pool, A right-wing influencer who was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to spread Russian propaganda during the 2024 presidential election has been added to the White House press pool.” Weird how stuff like this keeps happening.🤷🏼‍♂️

The thing that's been so aggravating about Trump -- has been visible, in fact, since a year into his first term -- is that he's a paper tiger. Appease him and he'll try to take everything from you. Punch him in the face, and he folds, because he fundamentally only respects strength

At least 10% or 76 tankers of the Russian shadow fleet that regularly sails Baltic waters are insured via companies that do not exist. Along a further 179 ships with the same 'insurance'. If one of these decrepit ships damages anything or lets a shipload of oil into the sea, there is no coverage.

As American and Russian negotiators met in Riyadh to discuss a ceasefire, President Zelensky accused White House aides of trusting Putin over the CIA

With all the words in the english language I cannot possibly convey what it feels like to hear a Russian drone over your head while reading this

It is a legitimate point that the idiocy of Steve Witkoff’s recent comments on Ukraine stems from his complete lack of knowledge about Ukraine, or Russia, or politics in general. 1/9

In 1999, the Observer newspaper described Witkoff, then 41, as "a lean, dashing man who keeps a copy of 'Tough Jews' (a novel about Jewish gangsters) on his desk and carries a gun while collecting rent in New York." www.t-online.de/nachrichten/...

Anyone shocked by Witkoff’s outright statements of Putin propaganda, really should not be. Trump has been repeating similar tropes for years. The only shocking thing is that people seem surprised. That alone is terribly worrying.

Americans have no idea what it’s like living next to Russia.

"White House officials informed the Navajo Nation that an artificial intelligence-powered automated review process looking for content with DEI initiatives led to the elimination of anything mentioning 'Navajo,' according to a statement from Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren."

The security advisor to SE govt lost a bunch of documents concerning national security. A maid, with connections to Russia and islamic terrorism found them. A top govt official knew about it but told security services "no idea". Security services found the mail saying otherwise in his trashcan.

I truly can't wrap my mind around this. If a database containing information on thousands of children whom russia kidnapped was indeed deleted, this would be a cover-up of the russian genocide. How will hiding russian crimes bring us peace??? www.nytimes.com/2025/03/18/u...

The F-35 may be the best fighter jet in the world but it is pointless to buy it if Putin puppet Trump can just hit the kill switch. Starlink may be the best satellite communications system out there but it is too risky as long as it is owned by the chaos agent, Elon Musk.

Photo of Mark Rutte celebrating NordStream2. Mark Rutte was PM when MH17 was shot down by Russia in 2014. Dutch friends of mine organized a meeting in Kyiv to honor the victims. We met in Podil near the Dutch Embassy. Rutte prohibited diplomats from attending our vigil. It could provoke Russia.

How much longer will we see serious people saying that event X is inexplicable/incomprehensible/baffling unless condition Y, before they start to accept that condition Y, which is the consistent simple and single explanation for all these baffling events, is the reality we have to deal with?

The co-president says speaking against Putin’s interests is akin to treason. So I guess that’s where we are now.
