Mini rack this, mini rack that.. Everybody loves a mini rack, but are they ready for the degenerate rack?

Buying and flashing 50 @raspberrypi.com microSD cards is a lovely way to spend an evening btw. Just saying. Maybe.

A couple of Debix (Model A/C) boards join the collection! They’re actually the first iMX SoCs I’ve had my hands on so it’s nice to have a couple to check out 😄

99% of my office is held together with command strips… This saved me some space (and future neck pain) on the workbench though 😅

Just said "Thank you, this worked" to an LLM in vscode as I would in the web UI and it charged me $0.26 for the reply and summary of what it did.. Whoever said being polite costs you nothing was WRONG

So it seems they dropped the full "Upton" name but the @raspberrypi.com CM5-powered Argon Forty One Up Laptop has been announced and will be available via a Kickstarter campaign very soon it seems! Saying I'm interested would be an understatement 🥺 www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NAF...

Does anyone have tips on how to be comfortable with just releasing something into the wild when it's "good enough" rather than spending night after night trying to add and fix things to try and make it "perfect"? 😂

Having just spent the best part of an hour dealing with the @raspberrypi.com Zero/Zero 2 W with microSD cards, I think it's safe to say that I've been rather spoiled with all of the eMMC/NVMe-backed devices I've been using in the last couple of weeks 😅

After being on my radar for a while, I have the LattePanda Mu in hand! Yet another N100 to add to the collection.. I’d really like to have a look at some of the higher end Alder Lake refreshes at some point soon too!

Today it’s the turn of Libre Computer to come in clutch. Can’t believe I didn’t already have the Sweet Potato! Oh there are 1 or 2 PoE HATs there too. Those PWM fan controllers may come in handy..

That feel when you're in the zone and you pump out 2000 words in a couple of hours because you're doing something you really enjoy 🥺

As the wise Jon Bon Jovi once said: “Oh! We’re halfway there. Wooah-oh 24 ports to spaaaare”

Another part of the puzzle has arrived! Thanks @RadxaComputer for sending these over 🥰🥰

I guess I kiiinda get it as that’s how they’re stored but ordering 15 microSD cards shouldn’t really mean I end up with 16 plastic bags 🥲

Quick one! I'm no longer writing for @pineboards.bsky.social and I'll be focusing on the big projects I've got coming up now😄 I may get back into freelance writing a bit later in the year when time permits but for now, I'm going all in 😎

The clone army is being assembled

Excuse me?

These fairly cheap clips seem to be perfect for these shelves for cable management. This is going to be one pimped out IKEA Bror 😅

Over the weekend I sat and wrote the automation to test, parse, and submit my benchmarking suite data. It's not the prettiest in the background but it works and frees me up to focus more on writing. I'll add more tests soon but damn, I finally did a thing 😅

Slowly but surely, we’re getting there! One more desk, and a new chair on the way but with those I think phase 1 is done. Pretty excited to see what I can do in this space, and it’s thanks to everyone that reads my little ramblings that we got to this point. Much love 🥰

Finally got round to putting the Pironman 5 back together again for some actual testing.. I have mixed feelings about it. It's a cool idea, though I feel certain aspects could have been better executed. Hopefully the V2 fixes some of those!

Damn, procrastination's hitting me hard right now..

I took this photo back in January of this year and it's since grown to contain 10-15 (excluding duplicates) more.. I do wonder how many of these actually have working images at this point 😅

After being interrupted yesterday, I got the first shelving unit done. I need 1 more drawer (IKEA only had 2 🥲) and then this is done. One more unit to go and then the space will look like less of a bomb site! Excited to see the finished-ish space in 1st week of Jan and burrow into content!

I've updated my Raspberry Pi NVMe SSD review to include the 512GB model now that I finally have it! It's a BIWIN drive rather than Samsung, though it offers just as good (if not ever so slightly better) performance for your Pi 5 (and more) bret.dk/official-ras...

Moved a few bits in to create some mess! I'll be looking to get 2 more desks in here along with some storage. IKEA trip at the weekend I suppose 😅 Would people be interested in seeing progress/update videos or should I just shaddup until it's done and then shaddup some more?

If you missed the show, catch up now. It was great to chat with Bret!

In just over 1 hour I'll be talking with @biglesp.bsky.social on the Tom's Hardware Pi Cast! There'll be a bunch of Raspberry Pi chat (including the new Pi 500) along with tales of testing. I might even reveal my favourite SBC.. I wonder if anyone can guess?! 🤔 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdp0...
