One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.

the media has, as far as i can tell, voluntarily opted to not cover the social media history of trump/musk staffers. it is not like “the president is surrounded by nazis, at least one of whom was selling services to csam cyberextortionists” is something that would generate zero clicks.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.
