Ahhhhh... You're a Corbynite That explains everything I don't think we need take this any further You think there's a magic money tree. I think we're broke And neither of us is going to change our minds Good luck!

To be fair that tank is 80 years old It's entitled to squeak a bit!

Might I suggest you have a look at this? I appreciate it's half an hour but I think you'd find it a half hour well spent My only big gripe is the complete omission of the damage done by Brexit Panorama, Is Britain Broke?: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002d37n via @bbciplayer

I am absolutely *not* saying he was bad But was he really *that* good? Or does it just *seem* that way when he is inevitably compared to his predecessor/successor? Who is, of course, the worst President in US history...

I'll try not to be condescending either but there really isn't - as is explained frequently on the news, Newsnight, Peston, etc, etc...

You have a point...

No they didn't. It was a combined effort Plus they did sod all against Japan until the last minute, or in the Mediterranean And, before Barbarossa they were providing naval basing to Nazi Germany for use against the allies: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basis_N...

Sadly we now live in a world where you cannot easily distinguish jokes from genuine lunacy Welcome to the post Brexit / post Trump world where the the truth is often a bigger joke than comedy...

That is one of the items we were discussing We have no problem with the fact that some people would strongly benefit from a car But does it have to be a new one? What's wrong with something 4-5 years old? It would save a fortune

While I was totally opposed to leaving the EU, to be honest I'm much more ambivalent on the subject of the ECHR After all, we did have virtually all of this before 1953 and more would have been introduced regardless since I'm not in a hurry to see it go but would we really miss it in the UK???

To be fair he's up against some pretty crap opposition But then a win's a win... 😀

1,500 seems somewhat excessive but it does raise the interesting question of how much additional progress would we have made? I suspect its not that much We'll obviously never know - partly because it would depend on what replaced it - but I'd go nearer 50-100???

Wow! You really are some kind of fuckwit! Or are you just some MAGA loving cultist out to make the trans supporting community look like a bunch of fuckwits? So hard to tell... But then I suppose it makes you a fuckwit either way... Just a question of flavour...

Thick doesn't appear to do you justice You're a genuine frothing at the mouth psycho Fell free to fuck off and get a life...

Thick by name, Thick by nature it seems Try READING the posts and, once you've understood them, you can apologize too...

Me: Makes the totally fair point that the OP is flawed You: Goes on a moronic caps filled rant because I haven't written precisely what you want to read Try engaging your brain, look at the posts above again, and then make an apology Or are you genuinely too fucked up for that? Time will tell...

Unfortunately it probably is unrealistic How do you realistically get Israel to give up its nuclear weapons? And then guarantee compliance?

Very good point... Sad but true

Couldn't agree more! 👍 And, when it comes to those who disagree, it's astonishing just how ignorant of the Bible they usually are...
comment in response to post
Thank goodness for that! Others may disagree but I'd *very* much prefer NOT to fight World War Three
comment in response to post
Why make posts like that??? By all means defend your position but posting wishful nonsense like that & hoping no one picks up on it is not going to do you - or your position - any help... You need to be more careful www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/08...

I agree in general but am unsure about "Either slavery has always been immoral, or it's been ok all along." What exactly is morality? Who says what is moral? Society? Differing societies reach different conclusions And societies have often had an ever-changing view on just what is & is not moral

Actually 3 of 3... And you completely ignored our changed financial status Where is the extra money coming from to make up for what has been lost? Especially when anyone who suggests we tax more will be out of power before you can say: "Get them to do it for free on a Saturday morning..."

2/2 Who? eg Some of the people my cousin has cared for who receive far more in benefits than he & his colleagues looking after them do in wages Or my cousin's husband who decided to live on benefits as he couldn't get that much money working - although to his partial credit he did voluntary work
comment in response to post
1/2 God save us from zealous extremists! 🙄 Please tell me you are familiar with the word "some" and recognise its usage in my post because you seem to have brushed straight over it

Yep. I don't make fucking stupid posts You could learn something...
comment in response to post
That's been going on since (before?) day one, surely? I've heard people talk about it so much I don't bother listening any more. It just repeats old grounds I don't mean to sound harsh but it is surely now time to start enacting policies and stop denying us our rights
comment in response to post
Would you prefer we cut health spending instead? When are people going to realise that the 2008 crash, Brexiteers, Covid, Putin, Truss & Trump have all made us poorer We cannot afford what we used to. It's as simple as that Outside the protected depts everyone else *needs* to take modest cuts
comment in response to post
I really don't see how stupid posts like that are helpful to anyone...
comment in response to post
Bit of an odd statement... If you're being "offered" an assisted death (under the proposed plans) by definition you have a significant health problem There's a fair chance that health problem is going to entail some disability...
comment in response to post
There need to be SOME disability cuts 1) Some people are paid far too much & others not enough. Assistance has to be better targeted toward those most in need 2) The 2008 crash, Brexit, Covid, Putin, Truss & Trump have all helped make the UK a poorer nation & we cannot afford what we used to
comment in response to post
The trouble is that those offended by it are the ones most likely to pretend it never happened We need to work things so these blockheads do learn from it & change their ways Not saying there's no room for offense but we must recognise that it can be counterproductive in some cases
comment in response to post
Fantasy politics can be so much fun. It doesn't matter if the numbers add up or not We ALL, including the super rich, need to pay more The 2008 crash, Brexit, Covid, Putin, Truss & Trump have all seen to that We are a poorer nation & people need to realise that

Passports should contain a note of a person's sex as that information may be required on medical grounds But if people want their gender on there too, i see no reason why it shouldn't be recorded

It varies... Sometimes politicians get an easy ride Sometimes the interviewer gets it right Sometimes the questions are just bloody stupid
comment in response to post
There is an argument that they get too much screen time Not sure I entirely agree with it (Exposure can mean getting exposed) but you could certainly make one And where they have control of the media is GB News, print, & much of social media - not so much BBC where they're routinely exposed
comment in response to post
We have to reach those we can - and that will take differing methods/tactics But I am far from confident Let's hope enough people are paying attention to what is happening in the US & make the connection to The Whatever Farage Is Calling His Party/Company This Week Party...
