The new NIH director is an embarrassment, a hack who happily distorts research for the sake of ideology. He is despised by most of his former Stanford colleagues.

When people are burning stuff they've lost me, and I am pretty far left of your average American.
Nothing is gained by burning Waymo vehicles*. No immigrants are protected nor are their interests advanced.
*and I hate Waymo and their SD auto competitors.

An action Kennedy told Senators he would not take during his confirmation hearings.

Gullible hacks. Bill Cassidy could have killed Kennedy's nomination, but he lacked the spine. He knew Kennedy was lying.

the kid just graduating from 6th grade, the woman serving you eggs at the diner, the group of people picking the strawberries you like, the guy changing your oil at the garage, the guy stocking the shelves at your grocery store, the girl volunteering at the local food bank, and on and on and on.

The day laborers I would normally see in the local Home Depot parking lot have disappeared over the past month.

I feel for the National Symphony, playing to small audiences and knowing that their fans are sitting it out. But here we are.

I'm with Tom and the Lt. Gov. Shout them down, embarrass them, but violence and/or property destruction will work against us. We need more people on the streets protesting peacefully. That is the show of force that will resonate elsewhere.

It's a statement of fact. Sorry if that bothers you, when there's so much to really be bothered by.

It is not an expression of opposition to the US. It is a symbol of pride, much like the multicolored Pride flag is for the LGBTQ community. Flying a Mexican flag doesn't say "I hate America" any more than flying a Pride flag does.

His last sentence, Tom. The Mexican flag has always been a sign of ethnic pride in LA. That racist yahoos in Alabama are offended is their problem.
Trump will distort the meaning of the protests in every manner possible, flag or no flag. But walk through most SoCal cities and you will see it fly.

I'm proud to live in a community that's majority latino. My SoCal city is incredibly vibrant, and we live together in harmony.

Tom, have you been to LA? Mexican flags are everywhere and always have been. It's a statement of ethnic as much as national pride. It's no big deal to almost everyone in SoCal, with the exception of the most bigoted of the haters.
They didn't just bring them out for a protest.

Met up with a large group of neighbors today, and we're having a poster-making party on Thursday, June 12th.
Turn this event into an opportunity to cement solidarity with the people in your community.

ABC is looking for some favors from Team Trump. Bendin the knee.
Look for your news elsewhere. ABC has chosen a side.

Dude has obviously never been to southern California. Just wait until he goes into a Mexican restaurant and finds a tiny paper Mexican flag on a toothpick sticking into his enchilada. He's going to pee his pants!

An interesting piece from decades ago related to this is "Community psychology and the anarchist insight" by Yale's Seymour Sarason. He was deeply skeptical of the government-university partnership, for good reason.

Homan is another dickwad who likes to dress up like a tough guy and threaten others. He inflames every situation he enters, purposefully, because he wants rioting. Violence allows him to get more $, more power.
Don't give it to him.

...everyone went home, show's over, just in time for the douchebags (Homan, Noem, and Trump) to play macho and send in 2000 CA National Guard troops, over the objection of CA's governor.
