The White House is demanding that ICE get deportations up, and ordering any career law enforcement who objects to get the hell out of the way. The head of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal operations apparently resigned rather than obey an order to fire ICE officers who weren’t hitting arrest quotas!

Charles Kieffer (longtime OMB/Congress staffer) says he expects future approps acts to be much more detailed, shifting previously-extensive "report" language to language in the bills themselves, to give those provisions more weight.

Eloise highlighted that in court the administration is not making the broad claims to maximal executive power that Vought et al were making in white papers prior to Trump's second term. She suggests this is because those are losing arguments, even before our current Supreme Court.

This is an example of why the GSA fine arts specialists are so needed. Federally owned art has ended up in many private collections in the years since it was created. GSA had a robust program to recover the lost art after it showed up in auction houses. www.gsaig.gov/wpa-artwork-....

But this is the work of law school, esp in 1L, and so there’s no shame (and in fact a lot of strength) in asking for help with this part.
