Their world was never really about Zero to One. www.amazon.com/Zero-One-Not... It was about Zero Sum. That starved mindset of finite resources that must be grabbed, controlled, and manipulated. Stolen ideas with board control. A fucked-up tunnel instead of a high-speed train.

Ok, stopping here. Enough insults. You said "The use of hotels has been very bad for the towns in them." I simply wondered if this was really true and if there was evidence for that. I am not weird, malicious or delusional and you have put words in my mouth which I never said and absolutely reject.

No Stephen. People attacked hotels containing asylum seekers, not because they were outraged at the poor conditions within. They did it because they believed they were bad for them and their town. And I simply asked if we had any evidence for that.

Yes, and that's a good thing and you're right that it will ease reduce the pressure on accommodation as people will be able to work or leave. I still haven't seen evidence that housing immigrants in failing hotels is bad for the towns, other than providing a convenient scapegoat for bigots.

The evidence that this is bad for towns.

But homes for everyone is an entirely laudable aim, but my understanding is that it will take a long time to achieve. But there is so much nasty bullshit around this topic, perhaps that's not true. Do you think we could house our asylum seekers in the housing stock? Also, i still don't see

I didn't put any construction on what you said, malicious or tiresome. Barges and airfields are quite literally where they have been put in the past. I thought hotels were better than that, although I would have hoped the government would insist on minimum standards given the money laid out.

Is this really the case, though? I heard the same thing in Donegal, but the hotels that were used that I saw were on the point of closure or had already closed and were actually reopened. The fact they can't work is really a different issue which is not solved if you put them in barges or airfields.

Why has it been bad for the towns?

If these people truly believed in God, they'd know that their place in hell is reserved.
