Much of our knowledge about bird movements comes from studies of domestic pigeons. With funding from @britishbirds.bsky.social @scottishbirding.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social, we carried out a small pilot study, GPS tracking their wild Rock Dove cousins. #ornithology. doi.org/10.1093/orni...

One of the highlights of 2024 for me, was the upgrading of Ross’s Goose to Cat A on the British list. In particular, a bird that I stumbled across on Aldcliffe Marsh back in 2008 became one of the exalted 18 to make the grade! ✅ Now, that’s really low-carbon birding! @britishbirds.bsky.social
