Agree, up there with Nick Abbot and Lewis Goodall. Some Scottish or Welsh/Ni voices would be good though, might shake things up a bit and provide different perspectives English audiences just don't get

Yep, just listened to it and feel the same. Scotland, Wales and NI have disappeared completely from the LBC radar now, maybe understandable in light of world affairs but UK politics still get extensive coverage. Possibly need a more diverse workforce at LBC?

High time that all European countries look to tighten electoral rules, especially on funding - limiting any donation to under £1000 and policing this rigorously might help. PR in the UK rather than FPTP could ensure all voices are represented but no one party dominates

There's a clue here about how the rich disruptors are relying on interference into elections worldwide to gain power. They can't gain effective traction politically in Ukraine until an election is called, then they can set in motion their usual disinformation campaign and vote buying.

I agree but really wish enlightened folk would also acknowledge the damage done to the SNP and Green Party in Scotland, the ruling class want to keep Scottish estates for themselves and make money from their resources. Labour seems no better than the Tories when it comes to fighting dirty

I usually survive the first hour just to hear what they are saying and occasionally stay on if there's an interview I want to catch. Rarely manage more than 5 mins of Reporting Scotland now. There's a few other indy supporters I know who do the same so not all those tuning in believe their nonsense

Loved it just as much second time round! I didn't get a chance to watch Smeddum all the way through, do you know if it is still available?

Added bonus was a trip to just outside Banchory last week to see family, and recognising landmarks and place names. One day I hope to get to the Grassic Gibbon centre - is it worth a visit? Spotted a Bill Riddoch in the credits and wondered if he was related to Lesley, does anyone know?

1) I watched the last episode yesterday, quality production and far above the film version. I remember watching it back in the early 80s (I think) and loving it then when I was new to the book. It certainly doesn't disappoint 40 odd yrs later!

Good for you highlighting this, can you do it for the Scottish Government too? Their achievements have been ignored, downplayed or rubbished for years so we know how labour supporters must feel but wish they'd spoken up in Scotland instead of joining in the gaslighting

Because he is expressing an opinion rather than presenting facts? I'm not sure what the GMC could/would do. He's entitled to speak, I just think LBC should be providing an opp for a counter view when political point scoring is involved but then maybe I don't do this when it's another party involved

It's hard to know who is behind Global Player which is worrying, my search threw up several other organisations with no clear ownership. It's so tiring having to be so suspicious all the time! Mathew W did a great interview with Richard Thompson a while back which is why I expected more from him

This is the second Sunday I have tuned in but the broadcast hasn't started, is there a problem? I meant to go back to last week's episode to see if it was available now but forgot

4) Neither party wants a functioning NHS model on their border allowing comparisons to be made as to which health provision model works best for the people. You would think given recent privatisation failures eg water companies in England that Westminster would change direction, wouldn't you?
comment in response to post
3) It is no secret that both labour and conservative politicians have accepted large donations from private health companies. In Scotland both parties appear desperate to force the SNP to say the NHS is broken - could this be to allow them to push for more private company involvement?

2) Who follows up the opinions of particular political figures? It is easy to baffle with large numbers but these can be given context by comparing to the rest of the UK or working out population percentages to work out the scale of the problem

New data from NHS England shows an average of 13,710 hospital beds per day were filled last week by patients who were medically fit to leave – up from 13,585 the previous week and the highest number so far this winter. www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...

And they'll do the same come 2026 if no-one has a clear majority or is able to form a minority government. Hold our nerve, big SNP vote is vital
comment in response to post
They are clearly under pressure by their private health provider funders to force Scotland to fall in line with Westminster policies - they can't afford to have Scotland showing the NHS model works while they dismantle it in England
