Unfortunately it’s a lot deeper than that. Education is a big part of it but there are profound cultural problems as well. Google an article called America the Spiteful’ by Mark Ames from about 20 years back. He really nailed it.

Not just the government - the country. That Trump was *elected* again, despite the felonies, the lies, the rape, the bigotry… this is an indicator of the average voter.

Not forever. Germany came back from hitler. But I do think it will be very important to have the dem nominee for 2028 be someone that has the ability to meet with other world leaders and basically sell them on how this was all a mistake.
