surprisingly, i don’t hate scott the woz. he seems like a decent guy, he seems smart and like he does his research and he thinks a lot. he’s not just out there making bad jokes

i feel like i get this a lot as a single parent like “you need to learn to accept the help of people around you” well how about they start following through when they say they want to help me, how about we talk about THEIR failings and not mine

it’s hard to explain it but it’s like a makeup that’s matte versus one that’s layered and dynamic. or a scent that’s overly strong and boring vs one that’s subtle yet complex

no but white (usually cis) gays who just make their entire identity about being gay instead of poc gays who usually have that interesting intersectionality to talk about or they just more fluidly mesh their gay identity with their other identities a lot more smoothly idk how to describe it

at the end of every kbash video, i’m like “man how do i support this guy more bc i NEED him to be successful” but then i’m at the top of his patreon tiers i think so i will just try to spread the word through social media and send love and support his way!!! ❤️❤️💜❤️❤️💛❤️❤️🩶❤️💛💖🩶💚💚💛🖤🩵🖤

it’s SO important for white people to talk to other white people about this, especially bc it DOES affect the larger picture and policies and everything. the micro scale and the macro scale are both important

but then seeing that kbash in a, well, maybe niche space, not all gamers are going to watch 2 hour video essays about games, but his platform is getting bigger, and he’s talking about these points that i’ve been saying but ppl are just like “oh there’s the poc girl talking about inequality again”

i just finished reading a book that talks about how the preferred female body is a white thin one, and she talks about how wrong and ridiculous it is. and i think that’s important, but i kept thinking, she’s a black woman in a niche space—people need to hear her message but they won’t

i clicked the video just being like, eh, i don’t really care too much about this genre, but i like kbash, and i’m just so pleasantly stunned silent and wowed by the video. i’ve raved to others about it already

i am part of his discord server, but i felt like, “oh this is just a bunch of dudes, probably white, who are trying to out-game each other,” and i didn’t feel like i had a space in it. but then kbash talks, and i immediately feel known, i feel seen, i feel valid and valued

but watching kbash’s most recent video where he starts linking Weird West video games to racist and sexist viewpoints is like, yes, wow, you get it. as a white guy (i’m assuming gender and pronouns here), you get it. and you’re using your platform to talk to others about it

i dated a white guy in college once who was like, “what do you want me to do, do you want me to look myself in the mirror every day and say ‘you suck bc youre white’” and i’m like no, that’s not what POC want from white people (but i mean maybe)

it was like i was saying that i hate when media (written by men ofc) portrays women as this pretty tough thing to get while the man is just suffering alone, and the guy commented that it’s easier for women to sleep with whoever they want than for men to
