Not everything needs to top the last thing! I think the Pig Squig (Puig?) looks natural, like a model you could just pick off the shelf, but the unridden Raptadon has more going on visually just by nature of its pose and feathers. Killer paintjobs on both, btw.

Whenever people fret over a new technique like weathering, transfers, or freehand, I tell em to practice on a Space Marine pauldron. They almost definitely have a bucket of them and they're a great canvas for trying stuff out.

The canopy is also removable so I can run it as a Scout Sentinel, and the missile and lascannon are both magnetized too!
