This is true in Denver, too. Unfortunately, there are those who oppose planting more trees as though they're the "cause" for the neighborhood being wealthier. In Denver, I believe the wealthier white neighborhoods were established first & got more trees over the years.

2/21/25: Five years into being a full-time bikeist. Today was the first time I COULDN'T use my bike. Neighborhood bikeways in Denver are unplowed (as always). 8" of fresh snow and car tire tracks on frozen roads make it impossible to get any traction. Today Denver chose to force everyone into cars.
