Inking a couple of Geiger variant covers.

On my desk today, inking the front and back plates for the second Redcoat collection. These first two volumes will also form the deluxe Hardcover

Still toying with the idea of getting a good screen tablet thingy to access digital tools better. (Not abandoning trad work at all) but after a bit of research I'm starting to think Huion might be a better option to Wacom. Looking at the 27 & 24 pro.

If you haven't and you love stuff like John Powell, Thomas Bergersen etc try Marcus Warner. Some absolutely banging stuff. Has a good YouTube channel too.

Sometimes a page just has to move things along in a 'fit for purpose' way to get you for one place in the story to another. Can't all be WOW images.

FOC for this beautiful book is tomorrow! Ask your retailer to get you a copy.

A pile of over 20 variant covers I'm doing for GM books...

I'm now a hat wearer. Never thought I'd see the day but I've gone big on hats. Many of them.

Busy year ahead. As we dive deeply into GM second year of publishing and RC's next 12 issues (and what an amazing and bonkers load of stories we have lined up for issues 16-30), I'm almost done with an extensive program of special variant covers for our books, both widescreen and singles.

This week on the Ghost Machine Fans Podcast, its time for a Redcoat Retrospective! And what better way to reminisce about the last twelve issues then by interviewing Simon Pure co-creator @bryanhitch.bsky.social

Do artists sell books? I know there are some we follow to a point and clearly many amazing talents around but do artists really move the needle in the way a book is ordered or sold? I know various algorithms push the writer and writers are going to do more issues than most artists can. Just curious.

Any fellow pros using Cintiq pros? just wondering about your screen sizes and how you get on? I'd been tempted with the 32 so I could get a DPS on a single screen but they've ben discontinued. Anyhoo, just wondering aloud. There's some effects I want you just can't easily do traditionally.

might be opening a commission list soon.

Redcoat 13 clocked in at 31 story pages. Still $3.99 Ghost Machine; definitely much more bang for your bucks.

Redcoat 12 is out today. part two of The Northerner cycle. Let me know what you think!

Love the Superman trailer and have only the best hopes for the film overall. I do hope there's a good reason Angie/Engineer is looking so despicable though. Our Engineer was good woman who found the joy and wonder in what she could do while kicking evil's arse. This seems like the opposite of her.

Redcoat 13 gained some extra pages between me and Geoff. End of arcs always seem to jump. Issues 1-13 of RC have 320 pages between them; equivalent to 16 issues of any marvel or DC monthly which are 20 pages each. GM books are 22 pages min (plus I do all those wraparounds on RC).

Enjoyed Thunderbolts* a great deal. As someone with bipolar disorder, neurodivergence and many years of mental health troubles (all good now thanks to medicine, a wonderfully supportive family and years of successful therapy), it was terrific to see a super-film built on overcoming such struggles

My favourite pencils!
