Hispid: with long stiff hairs or bristles. From the Latin β€˜hispidus’ meaning bristly. Borage, Borago officinalis. Up to 60cm. Erect, hispid. Basal leaves long-stalked and wrinkled. Upper leaves sessile and with wavy-edge. Leaf-like bracts. Blue flowers up to 2cm across. Dark purple anthers
