π±πΎππΊπ³π§ͺGum arabic currently from mostly wild trees, Senegalia senegal, Acacia ssp. & Vachellia seyal. Oozes from cuts in tree bark, about 300g per year per tree. Senegal is biggest producer, affected now by war and lack of rain. Trees N fixers, beautiful flowers, vicious thorns. #BUC2025

Well - trichome is a term for all types of hair on a plant. Some will also have glands producing essential oils, some also sticky stuff (like those of sundew in the picture), but all the sorts of of hairs are trichomes.

D is phloem. This is one of a plant's vascular tissues, the one that transports sugars made by photosynthesis, mostly in leaves, to the rest of the plant as food. Also transports signalling molecules. It is in the vascular cylinder but is not the outermost layer.

No, it is one of the 5 words in the list. Epidermis is an outermost layer, like the skin of a root that you peel off carrots. However, some outer layers have their own special name (as here). The question is about the outermost layer of an internal structure in the root, the vascular system.
