I don't know if we are related, but we share a name ... and I feel honored by my namesake.

The conservative movement has turned against reality on every scientific issue of our time, from gun violence to climate change to epidemiology. If campuses are ideologically homogenous, it's not because academia has ostracized conservatives. It's because conservatives have ostracized academia.

The fact of the matter is that the American conservative movement has backed a president now harassing students and destroying academic work on ideological grounds. This entire debate should be suspended until the conservative movement repudiates him. There is nothing to discuss until then.

To be sure, if Kamala Harris were president she would face down Putin with sound policy rather than behaving like an incompetent weakling. But remember: she would be doing so as a Black Woman. by Pete Hegseth, Stephen Miller, and Chris Rufo

What Catherine said - with this addendum: the institutions of the US economy depend on the institutions of US democracy. Both are being deliberately destroyed

Wild that 18% polled still say they wouldn’t have voted in 2024 knowing what they know now. People can dissect and analyze the 2024 election 100 ways to Sunday and it still won’t make logical sense. 45-64 is the biggest disappointment they know better, you would still vote Trump..smh

To everyone shouting “no one is above the law” referring to that Milwaukee judge: We have a criminal in the White House. A guy who’s proven to be utterly lawless. And you’re perfectly fine with that. So take your “no one is above the law” bullshit and shove it up your ass.

When I left the Washington Post in 2023, my colleagues and I were worried AI would hoover up our work and enable "zombies" to churn out stories based on our reporting and writing styles. Today WaPo announced a partnership with OpenAI. And here it is: Zombie Gillian Brockell. I DID NOT WRITE THIS.

If plainclothes policemen can’t grab random people off the street and deport them to a foreign death prison, do you even have a country anymore? This Federalist Society judge says no.

A two year old baby forced onto a plane by her government—our government. That’s what Ilan Wurman and Kurt Lash and their academic collaborators and defenders have been paving the way for with their bullshit articles. www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

My latest open letter to Missouri asking it what the hell, man. Voters in Missouri enshrined abortion up to the point of fetal viability into their Constitution in Nov., but antichoice Republicans are like "what you really meant was a 12 week ban w/ exceptions." rewirenewsgroup.com/2025/04/25/o...

Great news: All 6 piece of shit cosplay fake cops who forcibly removed Dr. Teresa Borrenphol from a Coeur d'Alene town hall have been arrested and charged. She also plans to sue the County Sheriff and the private security firm who employed the scum for $5M. Hell yes. 💙🍷

This moment when the penny drops that trying to implement bathroom bans is an impossibility for the former Tory Chief Secretary Simon Clarke is delicious.

Fascism. Also, no surprise that they started with a female judge. Misogyny, and hatred at the fact that anyone other than a white guy has authority over white guys made this the likely first move in this phase of the ongoing Trump coup.

The FBI just arrested a sitting judge.

It’s in their DNA

Claw all that back. And nationalize SpaceX

Seriously. How can you claim to be educating midshipmen in leadership, courage, steadfastness of purpose, and character when you're doing crap like this?

1/ 🔒 Imagine a private company embedded in gov systems—processing and analyzing your health records, immigration status, and social media use. That’s Palantir, co-founded by Peter Thiel, who once said, “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.” Yikes. Let’s discuss 🧵

The incompetence is part of the terror. Your life is blasted to smithereens while a MAGA ghoul smirk-shrugs, “Oops” then goes back to shitposting.

Steven Adams talking about the need for patience to maintain HOU's spacing: "I don't know if you've seen an excited dog that's ready to go for a walk, like wants to move constantly. You gotta calm him down, like, 'You're gonna move, you'll have the time.' So it's just patience."

🧵I disagree with Jamelle Bouie very rarely, but I do here: Ppl w/ unearned confidence believe their confidence is earned. Mediocre, mid, & otherwise unimpressive white people who oppose DEI actually *believe* themselves to have been cheated. It's the root of antisemitism, in fact! A thread! Fun!

There are a number of folks involved in the American gulag who might want to think about this precedent.

wasn’t DEI another one of those issues democrats needed to abandon for the sake of public opinion?

"Some officials say U.S. citizens who criticize administration policies could be charged with crimes" I always wondered how mainstream journalism would cover an impending dictatorship here. Now we know.

“No rebounds, no rings.” The Warriors must heed Pat Riley's cautious tale to defeat the Rockets in the first round of the playoffs, @montepoole.bsky.social writes

Happy one year anniversary to the Man Who Killed Google Search

this is literally all of it, in every single anti affirmative action movement everywhere on earth

Never forget that Bill Russell was different. This story of him blocking the shots of Slick Watts, Hall of Famer Dennis Johnson and Nick Weatherspoon as Sonics coach from Blaine Johnson's terrific "What's Happenin'?" took place when Russell was 43 and 8 years after his retirement.

There are times when a decent person would quit rather than preside over a sick farce. This is one of those times.

these people hate DEI because they would be unemployable in any system where they couldn’t rely on favoritism and nepotism

A US citizen with a learning disability who has just suffered a medical emergency asks a CBP officer for directions outside the emergency room. He ends up detained in an icebox for ten days and has the assistant secretary of DHS lying about him to the public at large. popular.info/p/us-citizen...

This should be the top story in Axios’s morning read. But it isn’t. It’s the FIFTH top story. @axios.com www.axios.com/2025/04/23/t...

What's that? What's that you say? Data center pauses? Data centers being paused by Amazon? Almost as if they're slowing capex spend related to AI? It's almost as if the demand isn't there? is that what it is? Is it??? IS IT???? www.nbcnews.com/business/bus...

The Warriors were voted the NBA's best organization in an anonymous player survey 🙌

The Warriors brought out their "tandem" 2-3 zone against the Rockets for a couple of possessions in G1. Rockets were 25th in PPP against the zone during the regular season. Curious to see if they bring it out more in G2, though that would make them even more vulnerable to offensive rebounding.

Theory: RFK Jr. thinks he’s a real-life Thanos, and he’s out to kill as many of us as possible. Oh well. His cousin tried to tell us, and it’s not like there wasn’t plenty of evidence he’s a twisted, serial fuck-up. An ignominious end to a storied clan.

If people deny that Israel is for the Jews, they will be punished by our Antisemitism Task Force. And if they deny that it's for Jews so as to bring on the events of Revelations so Jews can be cast into Hell, they will be punished by our Anti-Christian Task Force. by Donald Trump and Kristi Noem
