It's kind of shocking that this even needed saying.

Find inner peace. At this point there’s no other choice.

A President who detains a protestor and revokes their legal status can only be called one thing: A dictator. Silencing dissent is unlawful, unjust, and authoritarian through and through.

Hey @skeetofgod.bsky.social! We scientists need your support. After all, biological science is just deciphering the blueprint of life. Help us speak out against cuts to science funding!

The @royalsociety.org should be leading a Stand up for Science march in the UK! But that would require a genuine commitment to standing up for science. #StandUpForScience

Trans… genic. Trans.. genic. Trans. genic. Trans.genic. Transgenic is the word and concept you are looking for.

It is important at this pivotal moment to @standupforscience.bsky.social. Looking forward to sharing my thoughts on why this should be a national priority at tomorrow’s rally in SF:

The current planetary alignment is more of a loose parade (the planets are spread across about 120 degrees of sky). But now is a great time to enjoy bright Jupiter, Mars, and Venus; with a little effort, you can spot naked-eye Saturn & Mercury too. 🔭🧪 www.nytimes.com/2025/02/24/s...

feeling compelled to share this once again

Okay, so. I don’t know how much of a heads up this is when it’s just a notice about these 2 mutations. Do they really raise serious concerns about “increased transmission?” Sort of. It’s more complex than D701N & E626K, omg pandemic bird flu. What do these mutations do in H5N1?

Jon Stewart cracks down on big pharma corruption... literally

“Together, these actions will make people in the United States and around the world less prosperous and more vulnerable.” “We at Nature denounce this assault on science. And we encourage the global research community, wherever they can, to voice their opposition.”

The first measles death in the US in a decade -- the tragic, preventable death of a child whose parents chose not to protect them with vaccination -- should spark an immediate nation-wide campaign to ensure all children are protected against preventable diseases. Anything less is unconscionable.

Yes!! Meanwhile, most scientific institutions are 🤐

And then there are the ancillary consequences - a constrained pipeline of new talent, and much of the best talent diverted to other professions and away from health research and public service where we really need great minds who are motivated to serve the common good.

How Ironic that on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Woman's portraits have been taken down at NIH and Women is a forbidden word that if found in your NSF grant could get it revoked. #womeninstem

Super great that one of the major funding bodies that supports my physics research is now officially in opposition to me being the one to do it.

When asked to draw a scientist, school-age kids in the United States are increasingly sketching women, according to a study from 2018. Read more on #WomenInScienceDay: https://scim.ag/4hOUuvx

This is pretty infuriating. Just about everything Musk says here is nonsensical fantasy or garbage, but it's just laid out as if these are the insights of a genius. And this just keeps happening again and again and again. www.theguardian.com/science/2025...

I hope this action is not forgotten. It will be a small thing in the tsunami of very bad things, but is symptomatic of so much. And I simply can't see that it is in any way the result of enforcement. This is the sort of anticipatory obedience that happens in authoritarian regimes.

I'm getting better at remembering my dreams; it has been a genuine window to the unknown in my head. www.popsci.com/science/why-...
