It feels like anger at the fact that Caitlin Clark only makes $78,000/year could unite Americans across party lines

Great collection by friends! Get at it

Happy Pride! My friend @francisheaney.bsky.social was one of the trans and nonbinary puzzle writers who contributed to the crossword collection A Trans Person Made Your Puzzle.(organized by @adanicklmao.bsky.social) Play here:

Looking forward to a week of smoked salmon and marcona almond smoothies, as we manage these bar mitzvah leftovers

Bodega-themed floral centerpieces at my son’s bar mitzvah today; stunning stuff

The Doors are bad, but Thailand's Lam Morrison (แหลม มอริสัน) is worth your time! Lam is stage-named after Jim M, because he covered Doors songs for American GIs at airbases in the '60s-70s. But he is much more talented, as well as sympathetic. Vintage footage here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk7C...

I got a barbershop shave today, and the long version of “Light My Fire” came on, so I really got to do a deep listen, eyes closed and the whole thing. “Holy shit are the Doors embarrassing!,” was what I thought about for 7 minutes. Am I missing something? I could be convinced by serious arguments.

I’ve been staring at this name in disbelief throughout the playoffs

"Harvard's Sex Orgies Said Bad"

purchasing now! by @burrata.bsky.social you can get through @dukepress.bsky.social : www.dukeupress.edu/bangkok-afte... #booksky

Trump would absolutely start a public fight with Johnny Cash if "Man in Black" had dropped in 2025; "He doesn't isn't even a Real Guitar!" etc (sic)

Cryptic clues can be brutal. Is “said” a homophone indicator? Is “bad” (or “orgies”?!) an anagram indicator? I’m so stumped.

"Harvard's Sex Orgies Said Bad"

from the Bangkok Post's "Women's Page" (1964)

Arnon Nampa found "guilty" in another Lese Majesty charge today for a speech in front of Bang Khen Police Station on December 21, 2020. Sentanced to 2 years bringing his total to over 22 years TLHR say since July 2020 there have been 1,972 people that have faced political prosecutions in Thailand😧

There’s bigger things to resent about the Pacers, but I do just want to note that 0 and 00 (on Mathurin and Halliburton’s uniforms) are not different numbers

You know those scenes where a succession of twelve bad guys in a warehouse get absolutely housed by RoboCop, and then for some reason a thirteenth bad guy decides to try, as if somehow it'll be different for him. Anyway, that's what I think about whenever I see that a university has a new president

On June 4th, 26 years after the Tiananmen massacre, we will be hosting Jeff Wasserstrom to discuss his new book, The Milk Tea Alliance (Columbia Global Reports). Please share widely! forms.gle/CqYnJpgZRSJd... @jwassers.bsky.social @jmulich.bsky.social

“RoboCop” is a remarkable cultural object in that it’s plainly a defund-the-police picture, which nonetheless seems to have succeeded mostly on the basis of viewers ignoring its social critiques.

My son is anguished about the Knicks, so I told him it was good for his soul to root for losing teams, and anyway it’s just what Jews do. He then asked why Jews always lose, which I couldn’t argue with.

I’ve had a couple conversations recently that began “so are you canvassing for Mamdani?” and later proceeded to “yeah, @jessicaramosqns.bsky.social would have been better but he’s great at social media” and it maybe feels like we’ve all entered the funhouse a bit too willingly?
