Viewpoint diversity rocks bc, if you’ve ever tried to read one of those “Against Multiculturalism” books that profs grudgingly assign, the arguments are so mangled that you have to grant the author the same latitude you would a small child; in other words, engaging them at all is affirmative action.

Finished season 3 of "White Lotus" and lots to say. I think it's the weakest of the three seasons, but still undoubtedly layered. It's of course hard to watch awful people be awful, but the meta-commentary is hard to argue with. I'm most interested in Thailand-as-character, and secondly in "farang."

There’s an older guy posted up by the farmer’s market, blaring Bernie Sanders’ speech from yesterday’s rally thru a Bluetooth speaker, and sort of joyfully dancing along, to what I guess to him is the music of a twentieth century Brooklyn Jewish Marxist voice, with even twirls & claps now and then.
