One of the most incredible protest signs I've ever seen. A Japanese American woman folded a huge origami crane to honor the children of Japanese American internment camps & protest current ICE camps. 📸 permission at the Vigil to Stop ICE Expansion in Dublin, CA 4/16/25 ✊🏻 NEVER AGAIN IS NOW ❤️

Goldman: "Think about whether any of us want to vote a certain way but bc we fear for our personal safety, we decide to vote differently. We are no longer representing our constituents. We are representing something else more like the bully threatening us. That is more like Vladimir Putin operates"

Another thing that bothers me about the idea of shipping people off to El Salvador, it pretty much acknowledges that trying to rehabilitate criminals is no longer considered an option. The people sent there are not hardened criminals, but they’re being treated worse than Jean Valjean in prison.

What exactly is Congress doing as he says stuff like this? Why does no one with power actually rein this guy in?

If Soros were truly funding these protests, he would have to be richer than Musk. And I would like my check, if he is. Mountain View, California, 1500+ strong today! Woo-hoo! No pictures because I decided to just be in the moment for the whole thing.

Boo, UC Berkeley! That’s my husband’s alma mater. UCB used to stand up for freedom. What happened?

I have hated the church song, “They’ll Know We Are Christians (By Our Love)” since I learned it in 1967. Our choir director programs it far too often. Smarmy, self-congratulatory lyrics with a juvenile melody better suited to camp songs. I would prefer to turn it into a question.

I’m going to one of the “Hands Off” marches next weekend. I’m not physically capable of marching, so I plan to sit at the rally point and hold a sign. Any suggestions for a good sign?

Leonard Cohen often had the words:

Share the media. The news is compromised. We're starting to boil over.

Vance is a jackass. Most seniors are retired. And not all jobs have the same schedule. I didn’t work Fridays in my last job unless I was covering someone else’s shift. Manufacturing jobs these days often have 12-hour shifts and alternate 4 and 3-day work weeks.

EPA warning: do not go outside in the Central U.S. dust storm! Hazardous dust covers parts of KS, OK, CO, MO, WY, IL, TX, NM, NE. The AQI in St. Louis hit an unfathomable 5,791 from PM10 (dust); an AQI over 300 is “Hazardous”. The tops: Lamar, CO hit an AQI of 12,802. Consult airnow.gov.

Opinion: if they really wanted to cut wasteful spending in government they wouldn’t appoint a rich person who’s never known want, they’d appoint a poor person who’s always had to find ways to make do on little money.

Bernie Sanders is holding MASSIVE rallies in packed venues, bigger crowds than Trump was getting, and legacy media is practically silent. Bernie is talking to workers rather than hanging out with socialites with mediocre plastic surgery at Mar-a-Lago, and it's just not interesting to corporate media
