Over 10,000 people were at our protest

I think this embarrassment of a parade shows what happens when you kick out the gays. It loses all its life and flair. Worst parade ever. All the clowns were just sitting in the stands.

I guy came out from the car dealership next to our protest (not a Tesla dealership) and said we were welcome to use their restroom if needed. I thought that was kind of him.

All the clowns were in the stands watching.

Local to me was a 7-mile line from Sunnyvale, CA to Palo Alto. They were aiming for 7,000 folks. I haven’t heard a count yet. San Jose, San Francisco, and points In between had protests, too.

I’d seen a video post on Facebook earlier who was at the DTLA protest and it was totally peaceful. I hope he got out before the trouble started.

Worst parade ever. Ugly, uninspired floats, marching bands forgot their instruments - they didn’t even have Santa at the end!

Worst parade ever. Where are the baton twirlers in colorful outfits? And those floats! Couldn’t they use a better color scheme and find some flowers? They didn’t even have Santa at the end! Two thumbs down.

It gets better. It says there is a risk of wrongful detention and limited health care. Really? What a terrible country! Its citizens should protest.

Born in 1955, I saw rights gained & lost. I was traumatized as a pre-teen when my pregnant sister, unable to get an abortion, was forced to marry & then was abandoned by her baby daddy. It made me never want to get pregnant.

I deleted my Duolingo account after they announced they were going to use AI more than human beings for lessons. I don’t trust AI about anything.

It’s his constituents who are being harassed and terrified by her thugs. That’s not political theater, that’s doing his job.

You wonder how individual states will be expected to handle their own hurricane damage if the hurricane hits where the material needed to do so is. The whole point of disaster relief is that folks outside the affected area are in a better position to help - hence FEMA.

Done, but not in those words, of course.

“Military aged males” - I guess men aged 18 - 35 should stay away. The optics of ICE assaulting gray haired white ladies with walkers will play wonderfully on Faux News.

And let’s have primaries closer together. I’m in California. By the time we have our primary, my preferred candidate has usually already dropped out.

I prefer a curved crook style handle. It feels better in my hand and is useful for pulling things to you that are out of reach when you’re sitting. (I own 6 canes: 2 crook style, 1 Hurricane, 1 folding, & 2 of this style.)

A pox on all those who use A.I.

I don’t like to read about sex so I’m ver glad Seanan McGuire’s books don’t have it.

Oh, damn. I loved her Twitter posts. She was determined to stay there but I have still been checking here periodically to see if she changed her mind. May choirs of angels sing her into paradise.

Then I claim, as a Catholic, that no church should be eligible for religious liberty unless it can trace its founding to St. Peter or one of the other 12 apostles. None of these American-grown evangelical churches count.

I play in orchestra rehearsals and concerts masked. I sing at church masked. I exercise at the gym masked. I worked in clean rooms and wore masks for 12-hour shifts before the pandemic even started.

Thanks! I’ll read it later, but it sounds like the sort of thing I love.

The conductor of one of the orchestras I’m in is a big Star Trek fan. He has photos of himself in an original series uniform on his web site.

I can tell the restaurants in this country will be poorly staffed or need to close in the not too distant future. #DepartmentOfCuttingOffYourNoseToSpiteYourFace

Governor, why have you caved? Sucking up to Trump isn’t going to get you the Presidency in 2028. I feel like you’ve sold us out. - an unhappy Californian

She’s just another bleached blonde demanding to speak to the manager.

I’m assuming that 1940+ was when natural lefties were allowed to write with their left hand rather than forced to write with their right. My dad (b. 1923) was a leftie forced right. 3 out of 7 of us kids are lefties. My older sister was forced to the right but I was not.

Oh, my. What a long-winded way to say she demands to speak to the manager.

Not to mention environmental factors. The land under many former semiconductor fabs in Silicon Valley became EPA Superfund sites due to chemical contamination. I hope they cleaned it up before building homes on them.

Oh, crap. I’ve been reading the Mercury News for 60 years (reading my parents’ and then subscribing to it on my own.) This may be an end to my subscription.

Coming soon to a theater near you: Kent State - the Sequel! (For you younger folks, 4 Kent State students protesting the war in Vietnam were shot dead by the National Guard (l think it was them.) 55 years ago.)

We heard that, too. My dad’s early life was straight out of Grapes of Wrath: dust bowl refugee who had to drop out of school in 7th grade to work. He always told my brothers to study & get an education so they didn’t wind up digging ditches.

Kristi, honey, put your bag on the floor between your feet. That’s what grownup women do. If someone goes for your purse, you’ll know it.

Aren’t those poorly made up actors? They look like they’re in a bad skit, especially the guy in front with the blond or white hair.
