I interpreted it as a privilege check but now that you say that, I can see what you’re saying

... for personal reasons. I mean, I certainly am holding room for multiple fears right now, some of which are personal and some of which are community based. Basically this seems like more like a "yes, that sucks, and I'm also worried about X" situation is all I'm saying

I get this perspective and agree with it generally but on the one hand I reckon she knows that already, on the other hand she's making her family a visible target for an administration that sues journalists & hates trans people, and on the third hand I'm not sure what's wrong with being afraid ...

I've never seen Weekend at Bernie's but I somehow saw the sequel on TV approximately twenty times

I’m speaking generally, just to be clear, not calling for you yourself to be primaried! I’m not in your district and you seem like you’re doing a great job, honestly.

And we are happy to do our part to keep progressive dems or independents healthy with money and support when we can and—extremely regretfully!—with primary challenges when we feel there are no other options for a rep who’s phoning it in. Isn’t that the way this is supposed to work?

Plus I did see a very condescending letter from one of your dem colleagues about this so there’s no need for pretense that the party is a monolith here. I wish it were so! But we’ve seen nationally what happens when we let complacency set in and are just punching the democracy clock.

I want to believe! but at this point being a national leader on trans rights could easily be like when a parent tells their only child “you’re my favorite kid.” Technically true, but I’m gonna need more information. Tolerating X marginalized group cannot be contingent on them not being annoying.

Imagine being Rosemary Kennedy’s relative and going “man if I were in charge I’d put this lady to work”

I was just thinking about the Deadpool run where he runs around with Bob the Hydra agent and I guess it's fine?? This is my sidekick, the Nazi goon, but it's fine he's just there for the health insurance not the ideology don't worry about it

You're not, or for real "we" collectively aren't?

Sorry I’m realizing now this reads like a “you gotta hand it to her” reply so let me clarify this is a stupid waste of time given what she should be focusing on, and appears to be virtue signaling for the right wing, and you absolutely don’t gotta hand it to her

and if I am flying I can just show passport, there’s no reason to show real ID?

It’s wild because you’d think that “women who keep their name instead of taking their husband’s name” would be higher on the christofascist punishment list

Like this does seem stupid and all, but she does acknowledge that in the next post and we do collectively dunk on politicians for always reacting to things badly and late instead of being proactive with new technologies or whatever

I don’t think Rick and Morty happens without South Park. There were a lot of ever-stupider dominoes between the two and I think retconning South Park might take out Family Guy, American Dad, Drawn Together, etc

let’s say I have a passport but would also like to drive a car but the expiry on my license is coming soon. Can I get my normal drivers license renewed or do I have to switch to real id?
