Balatro launched one year ago today I often say I made this game for myself and friends, but seeing so many people connect with Balatro has filled this past year with joy. Thank you players, your love and support have kept Balatro thriving! I appreciate you all naneinf! 🍌

A random person I have loose work ties with asked me if I’d design an STL for them for an upcoming training. I took it as a reason to goof around at work. I could’ve rotated the puzzle around a bit for better lines, but it does the job!

I run a little chess club at my work. A student in club never plays her best because she’s always worried her horsies will die. So I made her a Horse King and two little “knights” with L’s on their head to remind everyone they’re knights. She didn’t win today, but she played better, haha.

I’ve been working on the plan for this Balatro piece for a bit, and I finally cracked the code so I don’t have to do tapestry crochet (which I hate) and can do it all in mosaic (which I love and is the best and would never hurt me). The work is speedier now!

I have this idea to make some kind of a strategy game with like… just the loose stuff in people’s pockets. Or to make a game where I could ask someone “Hey wanna play a game” and then I just dump a bunch of random objects out of my pocket onto the table and it’s actually a really fun game. Hm.
