Growing up in Milwaukee in the 70s and 80s, Ueck was the soundtrack to my summers. All of my roadtrips across WI when I was in grad school in the 90s were narrated by Ueck & Brewer games. Baseball lost an icon. www.nytimes.com/athletic/596...

The Grifting Imbecile did this the last time, too. I used to be a National Lab research scientist. His transition team sent out a questionnaire demanding a list of all professional societies, political activities, who we voted for, etc. The request ended up dying, as they pled “ignorance”. Not now.

Boy - do I feel this!! My wife has chronic illness and is a cancer survivor. We’ve gone to battle with health insurance companies for decades! Not saying I’d shoot someone… I am saying that I understand the blinding rage that would lead someone to consider it.

Proud of my daughter’s effort this weekend in this swim meet! 1st place finishes in both the 100 fly and 200 fly, 3rd in the 200 IM, 4th in the 400 IM. She was also part of a 1st place winning 400 Medley Relay and 2nd place 200 Medley Relay. WTG Bearcats!! www.wubearcats.com/sports/wswim...

From the “Getting old is NOT for the faint of heart” file - MRI showing an arthritic vertebra, squashed disc, and pinched spinal cord. Then an X-Ray with my new titanium disc implant. “We can rebuild him. We have the technology.” 😎 Recovery has been good but slow. Glad I had it done!

We had some of the coolest Northern Lights displays of the summer up here in NW WA! Most of the time, it’s too stinkin’ cloudy to get any good photos. But summer often has clear skies. Trying to maintain a good mindset under trying circumstances, like most of us.
