Call me crazy, but this “audit of Ft. Knox” talk feels to me like a setup designed to create a pretext for direct and immediate action against current and former government officials.

If you live in WA and like having self checkout at your local grocery store, reach out to your representative about HB 1739. It artificially constrains options. You can read about it and contact your reps here: https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary/?BillNumber=1739&Year=2025&Initiative=false

If you live in Washington State, please take a moment to look into this and register your support with your representative.

Folks: I am NOT affiliated with the group that is using my name to support an economic boycott. Please spread this post, if you would.

Yep.

Reposting for emphasis. There are already reports of companies raising prices in lockstep with the tariff rates. These new prices will be the future baseline, count on it.

A yet-undiscussed facet of this ongoing attack on the administrative state is that more entities will begin to simply ignore laws and regulations in favor of going to court if (if!) they get challenged for it. The guardrails that preserve civil society won’t survive the assault for long.

The US is in for a long bout of high and very sticky inflation that to a large degree won’t affect other countries as much as COVID inflation did. That’s very bad for us. And even if the tariffs are lifted or reduced, once prices go up to cover them they will *not* come back down quickly, if ever.

“Former Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, a candidate to succeed Justin Trudeau as prime minister, suggested hitting Trump ally Elon Musk directly by applying a 100% tariff on Tesla Inc. electric vehicles.” This is the way.

Another small break from the incessant craziness happening around us - while on my evening walk with our dog Jax we got to spend some time admiring this handsome fellow up in a tree right next to the trail. He was quite a bit bigger than he looks in the picture!

Wonderful hike at Dosewallips State Park this afternoon. The weather was nearly perfect if a bit chilly. Good to be out in nature for a while and not thinking about the craziness of the world. Picture is looking uphill at Phantom Creek while hiking along the Steam Donkey Loop.

Why why why why why are ANY democratic senators voting to move ANY of Trump’s cabinet picks forward??
