Unless you're a journalist, academic or other who focuses on it, thinking about what Trump + Elon's actions mean for the constitutional regime is a waste of your time. They are acting like the constitution is not in force and the law does not apply, and it's been a month now. Internalize this change

Yes, they intend to govern the state by pure dictatorial force. This is upsetting and surprising but the faster you accept it the sooner you will be able to actually analyze the situation. If you reflexively feel like retorting "they can't do that" or "that's illegal" take a second and reconsider.

People want leaders who see the horrors they’re seeing and feel the fear they’re feeling, not ones who shush them or say “We can’t swing at every pitch,” effectively making the terrified and furious base out as the crazy ones. To be a Dem voter right now is to feel gaslighted by your own leaders.

Online version below of one of the best synopses you’ll read of Trump’s Great Betrayal. “Those who thought America was a friend or ally, notably Ukraine and Nato, are dropping once safe assumptions to cope with a world in which America is an unabashed predator.” 👇

Elon is fundamentally evil on a scale of the worst dictators in history. Unimaginable wealth and he's spending his time perpetuating cruelty while enabling the deaths of millions. He's an existential threat to everyone on this planet.

It should be the "Musk Presidency & Trump First Lady". I mean, TFG IS Musk/Putin's little bitch.

Today we witness a continuation of history; the same forces and rhetoric that led to the mass incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II are now being used to detain immigrants at GuantĂĄnamo Bay. The lessons of history must not be ignored.

Confronting Trump and his goons for real, demonstrating that they cannot exercise control, that to challenge us they must enter a fight they cannot predict and might lose, is how you turn their weak and twisted psyches against them.

I do not WANT to be partners with Russia, with Putin. I want to be partners with the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada. Nations I trust, nations I respect.

This party has betrayed you and the country almost as completely as Trump has, not because they're corrupt and violent mafiosos, but because they're feckless eggheads without an ounce of fight or resistance in their bodies. Throw them all out.

"The world's richest man who is also a Nazi took over the government to dismantle the agency that pays for your kids' school and your mom's cancer treatment and is redirecting the money to himself" is literally the world's easiest political layup, to the point it'd be too obvious in 2010-era fiction

“I dunno man you’re just dumb as shit I guess” has been my overall takeaway from *gestures broadly*. I welcome the day that something disabuses me of this notion, but not holding my breath.

For many generations, we have referred to that body of water as “the Gulf of Mexico.” Suddenly, the Leader says, “Call it something else!” and we’re all supposed to fall in line? I think of a term I learned from the populist Right: “sheeple.” Let’s not be.

We're about to witness the final stress test of the foundations of American democracy. There has certainly never been an executive branch that seems as willing to assert compete dictatorial control of the government as the Trump administration is at this moment. We'll soon see if it happens.

Soon one of the judges whose orders are being ignored will either jail the DOJ attorney of record or issue a bench warrant for an executive branch official. If they don't and, instead, allow their orders to be ignored, it will by definition subvert the Constitution, rendering it a dead letter.
