What do people think about low profile transformers (the green box) in the public realm at the front of the site, vs on private property on the rear lane, like we do today in Vancouver? Better? Worse? Photo is an example from a near by municipality.

Great session @smallhousing.bsky.social on financing gentle density.

Great housing affordability panel, finally got to hear @tomdavidoff.bsky.social in person. He has some great ideas, thanks @smallhousing.bsky.social for pulling this event together. Great day so far!

That was the biggest earthquake I have experienced. Make sure your earthquake kit and earthquake insurance are up to date.

Another home makes the switch to clean electricity! #VanRe

We were able to buy an electric vehicle because Vancouver launched a street charging pilot years ago. Nice to see Victoria following, though the 8am-8pm ban is not helpful. Most of our charging is between 5-10pm: www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/ar...

What does $30 buy you today? Well for this Passive House Plus (solar PV) in cool/wet Vancouver it gets you all the energy you need. I get the bills and in the coldest period of the year, this family of 4 with an EV in a fully electric Passive House with solar PV, they pay about $31.

Do you know a building with 20 units or less in Vancouver (metro might work), where there are EV’s already (perhaps charging at fast chargers or 120v) for a field trial of 240V charging tied back to each units utility meter? If so let me know. Thanks.

New Marpole Community Center is coming along nicely! Passive House & Mass Timber being built by Heatherbrae. Gymnasium, various multi-purpose and activity rooms for sports, arts, a community kitchen, and a childcare facility for up to 60 kids on the second level with an outdoor rooftop play area.

This is super cool, hop off the electric SkyTrain, onto the electric ferry for a quick trip to Bowen Island and the sunshine coast. Support from 3 levels of government sounds promising!

This is my favorite new product coming to market. A drop in replacement for a gas boiler. Cheaper than gas to operate, cold climate ready, no refrigerant work on site, delivers heating, cooling and hot water. LFG!

It’s hard not to feel like what’s going on right now is the slightly politer, North American version of Russia invading Ukraine. An unprovoked war with the end goal (if someone so erratic can be said to have a defined goal) of weakening Canada profoundly in order to take it over

We didn't pick this fight, but lets respond strongly.

Electric 18 wheeler doing urban refrigerated haul for No-Frills grocery.Talked to the driver, he likes it, silent in operation, very smooth drive, it runs all day & into the night. When shifts over he returns to the depot plugs in & it's ready for the next shift. @freightlinertrucks.bsky.social

Anyone interested in some multiplex (3-8 homes per single lot) posts? I am doing work to make electric service connections easier. This is a 6 unit project on the east side moving ahead at a good clip. Heat pumps for heating and cooling. Parking at rear on the lane. #VanRe #Multiplex #Vancouver
