Yes! It’s like starting a movie and only watching a few minutes at a time. You’ll more easily forget what you’ve already seen and never get hooked.

My general rule of thumb is 50 pages preferably in one sitting.(My theory is if you stop/start a lot in the beginning you won’t remember a lot; so you’re not giving the book a fair shot.)

Yes! It’s called serialization (or a serial novel). A lot of cannon works were published this way, like Tale of Two Cities, Crime and Punishment, The Count of Monte Cristo
