One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

"Attorney General shall initiate appropriate action to repeal or amend the implementing regulations for Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for all agencies" What's Title VI? "prohibits discrimination against or otherwise excluding individuals on the basis of race, color, or national origin"

Breaking: RFK Jr. has forced out PETER MARKS, the nation’s top vaccine regulator. In his resignation letter, obtained by the Post, Marks said he was willing to work with RFK Jr on his vaccine concerns — but said Kennedy wishes “subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies.”

I'm genuinely disheartened by the lack of reviews/coverage for "Eyes on the Prize III," which premieres on HBO tonight. Sigh. This is, I guess, a "me" problem. But nothing you could watch this week is better. Anyway... ICYMI, my review:

Anyway, we should probably all watch The Reidout tonight. Let them know what they’re not getting again.

For decades, the US government has painstakingly kept American science #1 globally—and every facet of American life has improved because of it. The internet? Flu shot? Ozempic? All grew out of federally-funded research. Now all that's being dismantled. 1/ www.technologyreview.com/2025/02/21/1...

So they told us what they were going to do to ALL of us. Here is a tracker on their progress in destroying our country: www.project2025.observer

All the years of "but are you SURE it's a racism?" have gotten you to "are you SURE it's a coup?" Set yourselves up for this because you didn't want to have uncomfortable discussions, before. The answer was and is "yes."

Behold: My unified Terminator Theory of parenting through the Trump Era into the apocalypse he has created for our children. ...I'm serious you guys, I wrote a whole thing on parenting through this nightmare. My latest in @thenation.com

Jasmine Crockett, after accusing colleagues of castrating their Constitutional duty, said, “My job is to make sure we don’t have any kings or queens in this country, but it seems like you all have decided it’s going to be Mr. King and his queen. And y’all can pick which one is which.”

Trump, though Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, just halted the CFPB's work, ordering an indefinite freeze to the operations that Congress ordered it to carry out. This is a frontal effort to paralyze one of the nation's most important consumer watchdogs. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Ah, the millennial experience of “every time you get some measure of financial and career stability, the world decides to do something extraordinarily stupid again”

Kiah was set to join our faculty at Howard Law School in the Fall. She was a dedicated, brilliant civil rights lawyer poised to make a powerful difference in our world. Our hearts are broken & we pray for her family & friends. www.kwch.com/2025/01/30/c...

Reminder: There are Christians (those who are true believers, follow the Word the best we can, and who genuinely seek to know the TRUE essence and character of Jesus) And then there are these guys. People who just label themselves as “Christians” Matt 7:21-23 is Jesus’ statement on the latter.

The US Department of Justice has ordered its civil rights division to pause any ongoing litigation left over from the administration of former President Joe Biden, according to an internal memo reviewed by Reuters reut.rs/4g8Zdqv

Just a few days in, and this one’s bad. Real bad: “The Justice Department has ordered its civil rights division to halt any ongoing litigation from the Biden administration and not pursue any new cases or settlements” www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

My mind immediately went to the excerpt below from MLK’s Letter from Birmingham Jail. Black Americans have been sounding the alarm for decades. Any hope of a better future will require that “Middle” (white) America overcome their obsession with upholding “norms”/maintaining “order” above all else.

This album is a personal 90s classic for me. I played it *out* in middle school. And just put it on a month ago to confirm that, yes, it is still a good listen (not just nostalgia)

You might have seen a lot of buzz over "Nickel Boys" and it's well-deserved. One of those reasons is because of the Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor. I profiled her for @thecut.com and she was quite moving, even as we sat across from each other. www.thecut.com/article/aunj...

It’s very simple IMO A lot of his supporters *do* support his ideas, but not *publicly* because they want to be regarded in broader society as a “good person” Others truly *don’t* care about his ideas. They just want to be in the M*GA “in” crowd The rest are grifting for money or power or both

If you truly love the *art* of music, RUN to YouTube and watch Doechii’s Tiny Desk. It’s an amazing display of musicality, artistic vision, and magnetic personality. But it is also a cultural gem. A true embodiment of the richness of Black American culture and musical tradition. Doechii is a GEM

Can’t wait to get into this HBO Yacht Rock documentary. It’s a genre I’ve just recently begun digging into (beyond the hits). Steely Dan, in particular, was very underrated in my library until recently.

Washington Hail Mary. Packer’s blocked FG after late game mismanagement. Lions late game mismanagement. Flus 5-19 in one score games. Shoulda moved on last offseason.

I play guitar and bass as a hobby, but I was a professional lunch table hand drummer and an amateur beat boxer in school (and…still today). So I’d love to add drums to that mix as well.

Wow, it’s restarting immediately. The same chaotic cycle of (1) an outrageously bad nomination/appointment. (2) they back out of the nom/get fired. (3) Next guy is just as bad or worse (more outrage). Rinse & repeat. Don’t get your emotions caught up into all of this. Its gonna be a long [__] years

When diagnosing the lead-up to this era of U.S. history: I hope historians highlight the elimination of the Fairness Doctrine in the late 80s/early 90s. As with many things, our media’s effectiveness didn’t fall apart by happenstance. It was *engineered* as a part of the Repub. long game.

Wow, this really feels like old Twitter 🥹
