Think Starmer and allies expect this to fail, but need to keep showing they've tried everything to gain the political cover they need to enact whatever European defence plan they are likely working on in the background. Also keeps the pressure on Trump in the US to not be Putin's lapdog.

War crime alert. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Here's an idea: Take back public ownership. Investigate the greed that went on whilst billions that should have been invested was paid in dividends, and claim the money back in fines or wealth taxes. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Painful, painful game. Olsen never helps, neither does another weird defence. Since going 3-1 down, I can't remember us having sustained possession or attacking threat. Really poor.

It's way too easy at the back but the officials have swung this game in the most ridiculous manner.

Ah yes, because they definitely have the accuracy to rule that out by a fucking hair.

A Tributum was a tax imposed on Roman citizens to fund the costs of war. The Tributum was set at a higher rate if you were rich - a wealth tax imposed on assets, land, property and moveable goods. Not cuts to the poor. We have learned nothing in 2000 years. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Always hated that shite band. My instincts worked again

Just need everyone to do the same to these infantile fascist clowns. They are so ignorant it's untrue.

It's always telling how the majority vote left when they aren't as tied into the capitalist system. I've always believed if people voted for their country, not themselves, we'd have leftist governments. Ironically, that's what a patriot who believes in democracy should do. The right wing do not.

Strong move. Trumps lack of foresight showing again.

Utv 🙌🙌🙌

Reeves is so devoid of political instinct or imagination. Putin, Trump and fascism in general thrives when you keep making ordinary people worse off. Take from the source of our societal issues, and the very people forming the fascist oligarchies, the rich and monopoly companies like Google.

More added on time in this than there was in the Ipswich game... Of course there is 🤣

That's a bloody lovely goal 👏👏👏

What Europe needs right now is socialism. Yes, invest in an army and much more military power, but do it by taxing big businesses and the super-rich. It's their unchecked greed that has caused a society so broken that the likes of Trump can get into power. And they've either actively helped him

Unbelievably cruel that 🤣

It's an easy argument to spend more on defence, as long as you do the correct thing and take it from the super rich and mega wealthy, not working people. Use a wealth tax. After all, it's the super rich who form oligarchy in both the USA and Russia now. @mrjamesob.bsky.social @lbc.co.uk

This is total shit again. Why on earth would I want to read an AI summary of a well written article? If I wanted the brain-dead version, I wouldn't be reading the Guardian.

It's grotesque but realistically, this is just America doing the quiet part of their post WW2 strategy out loud.

So many overreactions to the Villa game. Low blocks are hard to break down and sometimes a keeper pulls a 10/10 out the bag. Overall, really impressed with Garcia, Rashford and Asensio. We'll only get better this side of January and just need to peak for the competitions we are still in!

Looked really good on that second half, just horrifically unlucky and their keeper had the game of his life. One thing it does show for me is how problematic it is when neither centre back can use the ball well.

Rashford caught that deary me 🤣🤣. Technique 🔥

Is that really a free kick? Ludicrous

An absolute bellend, this man. The problem is rich dickheads like James Watt hoarding too much wealth and not contributing to society.

Rico Lewis is nowhere near good enough. Ederson a clown.

That's because the right actually are populists whereas the left have popular policies, grounded in academic research and morality, that those with money/power smear out of greed.

Worth the wait for the latest instalment of Cato & Macro by @simon-scarrow.bsky.social . That's 23/23 for me. My favourite character development in a series since Sharpe by Cornwell 🙌

Labour are so far gone at this point they are at least as bad as a conservative government. You'd rather have the right/centre in power and debate centred around strong leftist policy than the centrist blairites with debate on talking points shat out of Nigel Farages sewer of hatred.

A 1% tax on assets of £10m or more would raise over 30 billion. The fact we continue to tax working people more instead is a mirror being held up to capitalist democracy. A facade for the powerful.
