I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article

They're having another go at a badly-written slop that funds systemic transphobia when Rome was canceled after just two seasons and The Expanse was never filmed to the end. This fucking world.

Welp, Spotify took the podcast posts down anyway. I have explicit and official permission, and Spotify just didn't respond. Thing is, I barely even care if we're on the service, save for the listeners who use it. I am simply disgusted at how Spotify has conducted itself with all this. |

“It’s basically a story about one woman’s loved ones’ struggles to put up with her inexplicable behaviour, which we have opted not to explain. We haven’t said she has autism because we wouldn’t want to label her, but she’s loosely based on my six-year-old nephew, who has autism.”

Some people can't afford to turn down this kind of role/work. But it's fair to say that nick frost and Jon Lithgow don't care about trans people.

It might absolutely flop and only make it to the third book and a bunch of actors will have torched their reputations with trans people and allies for three bad seasons of telly.

Pahahaha Katy Perry said she hopes this will inspire girls. Amazing. I'll pipe up with that the next time I'm on a hen do.

I just saw a YouTube video censor the word knife. The level of volunteered compliance on that platform has reached levels that cannot be parodied.

Have you noticed that the phrase "I object in the strongest terms" is doing the opposite of what it says?

I was literally JUST thinking about that old Whitest Kids U’ Know sketch - the “Grapist” - in relation to this nonsense, and then this reply came in. Like I said, the self-censorship truly cannot be parodied. And it’s infinitely more tasteless than just using *grown up words* for things.

i do not think the mainstream press is equipped or capable of covering ideological white nationalists and eugenicists as such, or even capable of noting that this is what they are. it is related to the wide belief that racism is simply a matter of manners.

In any functioning democracy the elimination of an extant department that protects children from lead poisoning would be a game ender for the entire administration under which it occurred. I’ll expect a strong statement from Chuck Schumer and some fundraising texts.

This right here. This is exactly it.

She has broken ZERO LAWS and she is now imprisoned because she wrote an op-ed.

i'm so sorry to the spate of new subscribers who got here from a particularly grim essay only to inevitably be met with the bizarre package deal of some bare-assed self indulgent emotional sincerity and 1994 camp classic "marry the mole" as performed by thee carol channing

what being alive currently feels like

Remember calories don’t count on a Monday or if you’re on your (checks notes) third global economic collapse before your first colonoscopy so…

If you think this can’t happen, remember that of the 125,000 Japanese Americans who were interned during WWII for years without charge or trial, two-thirds were U.S. citizens. Including me.

Put up by Katy Brand today - this is the story over and over again

My finger is so much on the pop culture pulse that I just now, in 2025, the year of our Lady Dolly Parton, wrote an article about Dune: Part Two and Akira. You can, may, should, and ought to read it here: www.tokyoweekender.com/entertainmen...
