But all of it was predictable by reading Project 2025. The only surprise was the speed and coordination of the implementation by the second iteration of an administration that didn't appear to have the means to pull it off so fast. "Look over there" diversion proved to be an effective strategy.

The Trump-anointed "2nd Amendment People" are in for a bit of a surprise if we continue on this path. Fascist regimes do not like having serious weaponry in the hands of citizens.

The only positive thing Trump had any part in was fast-tracking the COVID vaccines (after it was clear it wouldn't just "go away"...though which of the 400,000 deaths changed his mind is unknown). But he has managed to negate one of the very few positives of either of his administrations.

In the year 2525, if anyone at all survives, they may find...that they are looking back 500 years at humanity's inexplicable black hole.

Correct, they are not ashamed at all. But they know they are outside accepted norms, and either the law (whatever that is anymore), or a resister may take notes and take them out at a later date.

Inquiry is important to focus efforts on specific events and practices that, if they (likely) do not generate GOP support, they at least nail them down as complicit and in denial. And save enough for another try after the 2026 elections (assuming they happen and control shifts in the House).

Frank Zappa and Kurt Vonnegut are two absolute gems of humanity and wish I had been gifted with an hour sit down with each of them.

No, it's legal to build an emolument to our leader like the ones outside. You know, the Washington Emolument. There are many more.
What? Oh, you said emolument, not monument? That's different...NEVERMIND!

Sorry, Dan. You signed up for this and spouted his crap willingly for years. You want to understand pain? Check in with a few ill citizens facing loss of health care. Check in with an innocent immigrant imprisoned in El Salvador. Check in with a small business owner facing impending bankruptcy.

The ones that frighten me more than any other are those who don't necessarily think he's doing a great job, but refuse to believe he is following the playbook from 1930s-40s Germany.

Responding "respectfully" to anyone requires that one has the ability and will to respect. He respects no one and nothing. Even when he shows some facsimile of respect, it ends when he has extracted what he wants.
