One of Europe’s big fish processing plants in Norway is testing an industrial heat pump that could take waste heat to 250°C in seconds. Could be a game-changer for improving clean air in Europe. Read how U.S. industries can follow suit to accelerate industrial decarbonization. #FutureIsElectric

Crazy. Industrial heat pumps are getting really good. Pelagia’s fish processing plant in Norway is testing a new high-temp heat pump that could take waste heat to 250°C in seconds. www.forbes.com/sites/we-don...

Just because you aren’t surprised doesn’t mean you shouldn’t read this extraordinary artifact of March 2025. Will be of special interest to all of you practicing that cult “climate change religion.”

Most manufacturing facilities still burn fossil fuels to produce our food, paper, and other everyday goods, polluting local air and our climate. This @ted-ed.bsky.social animation shows how existing clean heat technology can modernize manufacturing to protect our health and planet. #FutureIsElectric

Last year, China added 82,277 heavy-duty electric trucks to its roads. The U.S. added 1,476. Ending investments in clean trucking hands China a major victory in its campaign to dominate the future of manufacturing. subscriber.politicopro.com/article/eene...

Front page of today's NYT: "This is not the kind of stately tennis match of the usual switch-over in administrations. This is full on Fight Club," said @abbiedillen.bsky.social, President of Earthjustice, on the Trump admini's blitz on environmental regulations. Earthjustice is fighting back.

“The wheels are turning.…And to take away funding now is to really put a wrench in a lot of that work.” @yasmineagelidis.bsky.social #futureiselectric

Breaking: We’re suing the Trump admin for removing climate change focused information from the USDA website. The move cuts off farmers, researchers, and advocates from accessing critical resources and funding.

🚨SoCal folks: Take action to support clean air! The gas industry wants to tank life-saving standards that will clean up pollution from buildings. Public support will help get a strong rule from regulators. Plz take two minutes to send a letter though link below: earthjustice.org/action/tell-...

It's time for Congress to fight back. In just a few short weeks, President Trump has closed critical environmental enforcement offices, frozen federal funding for environmental projects, and laid off thousands of federal workers. Act now & call on Congress to defend critical government agencies.

Big news! www.courthousenews.com/court-uphold...

This is an important case. Big ups to Earthjustice colleagues (@candyoungblood.bsky.social), @sierraclub.org, @industriouslabs.bsky.social ( @evangillespie.bsky.social ), and Peoples Collective 4 EJ. The zero-emissions shift is happening and we will go to court to defend our right to clean air.

With respect, suspending electric building codes for homes that burned down in LA so people can rebuild with highly flammable fossil gas is a terrible policy. This doesn't protect neighbors next time. And it worsens the climate crisis. Do better, Mayor Bass. www.latimes.com/environment/...

In today’s @latimes: My column urging Mayor Karen Bass, Gov. Gavin Newsom & CA Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas not to roll back clean energy rules for homes rebuilding from the L.A. fires. Won’t make rebuilding faster or cheaper; will make the climate crisis worse: www.latimes.com/environment/...

💯! And we don’t have to deal with flames spewing from gas lines after an earthquake/fire. Relaince on gas both worsens climate disasters and makes their aftermath more dangerous. We need thoughtful leadership, not knee jerk rollbacks of common sense measures that make homes safer + faster to build.

Kiah was set to join our faculty at Howard Law School in the Fall. She was a dedicated, brilliant civil rights lawyer poised to make a powerful difference in our world. Our hearts are broken & we pray for her family & friends. www.kwch.com/2025/01/30/c...

San Francisco State will be the first major public university in the U.S. to require students to take a course on climate justice -- not just climate change: www.kqed.org/news/1202398...

I’m sad to learn that my law school classmate, Kiah Duggins, died in the DC plane crash last night. Kiah was an exceptionally talented civil rights lawyer and aspiring legal scholar. I hope you’ll read about her work and the causes she cared about, some of which I’ll 🧵 below. What an immense loss

Why are Karen Bass & Gavin Newsom rushing to rethink clean energy rules in the wake of the L.A. fires? Rebuilding homes with gas furnaces won't be any cheaper or faster. If anything, all-electric homes are the best thing for everyone. My @latimes.com column: www.latimes.com/environment/...

Unfortunately, in addition to dealing with the devastation of fires, we will be dealing with terrible air quality across large swaths of our region for potentially a while. Follow this link for relatively good real time air quality data: airnow.gov Stay safe!

We're heartbroken to witness the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. The climate crisis is here, now, and all around us.

@cleanairca.bsky.social recommends people use the AirNow "When Smoke Is in the Air" website for immediate L.A. fire info & advice needs. www.airnow.gov/wildfires/wh...

Being on a call with a decision maker about life-saving clean air and climate rule, countering industry BS arguments while my council district is literally on fire is Kafkaesque. Stay safe folks in LA. #RightToZero

Our hearts are with those affected by the devastating wildfires in LA. The smoke is creating hazardous air quality across LA County, with impacts that could last for days. Protect your health and stay informed—visit www.airnow.gov for updates. Stay safe. 💔 #CleanAir #PalisadesFire #EatonFire

In case you missed this during the holidays, check out an op-ed by Right To Zero’s very own Tim Oberleiton & Susans Miller. By helping people upgrade to heat pumps, MD leaders can save home owners money, slash air pollution, and help address the climate crisis. www.baltimoresun.com/2024/12/19/m...

Yet again, Southern California regulators are missing the mark on our air quality goals. People deserve relief. We can and must do better for breathers in SoCal. www.latimes.com/opinion/stor...

This is really important work. Nine gas plants in CA at risk of violating health standards. Really good work by CEJA and @sierraclub.bsky.social.

Hey, so are you wondering what's up with NEPA, our nation's keystone environmental law? Well, a LOT. Pull up a chair and I'll break it down for you. p.s. I just got here from the other place and am starting over from scratch! Retweet (or whatever the right word is) if you think this is helpful.

🚨 Big shoutout to my amazing colleague @candiceyoungblood.blu for kicking things off at the Rally for clean air 🌍 the urgent need for action to protect our communities and move toward cleaner, healthier air for all. 💨 #EnvironmentalJustice #CleanAir #RightToZero @candyoungblood.bsky.social

This morning, we joined dozens of community groups and residents to tell the South Coast Air Quality Management District that we deserve to breathe clean air!
