So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

This started early in the US. Learning more about John Harvey Kellogg (yes, the cereal guy) taught me a lot. He started an organization called the Race Betterment Foundation, concerned with eugenics and racial hygiene, which have to be a couple of the most blandly horrific terms I've heard of.
