Generating a planet from Icosahedron! #gamedev #godotEngine #indieDev #procgen

Second piece is the very famous Tranquil Pond 🌿✨

Wow :)

Please excuse slow progress while I'm distracted by Civilization VII πŸ˜‡

Working as intended 😎 #godot #gamedev

You're a frog! You're a frog! Wait.... now I'm a frog!? πŸ¦‰βœ¨πŸΈ Follow Isle of Reveries on Kickstarter! Launching March 1. Link below ⬇️ #gamedev #indiegame

These physics took days to implement, please don't scrutinize them too closely πŸ˜‚ #pixelart #indiegame #gamedev #roguelike

Me with my zeldalike right now

thanks for coming to my stream

Some character portraits from Mina the Hollower and their sprite counterparts 🐭

As promised, a player character is in progress! He's currently stuck in this room with not much to do, but he'll get some toys and friends to play with in due time πŸ—‘οΈπŸ›‘οΈ #godot #gamedev

Here is another mock up, showcasing this tileset and characters is always such a treat. #pixel #pixelart #indie #indiegame #gamedev

i have been informed on how to Post videos! here are the clouds in motion

After a bit of a break, I've added some helpful debug features and fixed a handful of bugs with the dungeon tile substitution. Also added palette swaps! So the dungeon will choose a tileset based on its theme (ex: water). Player character first draft soon? #gamedev #indiedev #procgen

Next steps: 1. make a lot more room templates 2. Let boss and entrance rooms pick from different groups of templates 3. Filter template picks by dungeon theme (water, lava, ice, etc)

Been a bit without a proper update, so here's a WIP attempt to generate dungeon rooms based on what happens inside them. Notably, all 3 rooms with the "Torch" puzzle pick a room format with Torch tiles inside (there is only 1 room for this so far, so it looks like it's working!) #godot #gamedev

And you thought you solved the Door Problem, huh? Well how about this?

Still getting back in the swing of things after the holiday break. More #procgen zeldalike dungeon updates soon. Currently mulling over how to handle spawning in puzzle elements - buttons, torches, pushable blocks, and the like! #indiedev #gamedev

While planning dungeon generation, I've remade a recognizable dungeon in a couple sizes. Currently, I've been using 11x9 (left), but I haven't been happy with how my template rooms have been turning out. Considering 9x7 (right) instead. Thoughts? Cozy or cramped? #gamedev #indiedev #zeldalike

Watching a family member play Fire Emblem Three Houses has been reminding me that it might be cool to design a similar game one day. But I think it definitely needs fun animal characters 🐺🦁🐰🦝

When there's a starter pack I'd feel like I'd fit in and the creator is like "comment if you think I should add you", I don't typically say anything because it feels so conceited to ask, you know? Feels like I need to make more progress on my game(s) to feel worthy.

Example of the haters I'm going to dab on with my current project 😎

The game I'm envisioning is almost more like "randomizer the video game" rather than a roguelike, and I wonder how the market would respond to that. Compared to roguelikes: longer play sessions (still just a few hours), no permadeath, still procedurally generated πŸ€” #indiedev #gamedev

From the replies, I'm clearly not playing the same games as others lol

Finished reading the Spelunky book this afternoon. Definitely a good read! A lot about the development process which is always interesting to learn about. And it inspired solutions for a couple problems I was trying to solve in the process. I'll have to give them a try after the holidays 😊

Still planning out room generation during vacation time. I probably need to start drawing things out on paper to make sure it makes sense. But the general idea *seems* promising in my head

Finished a new asset-pack with monster/encounter sprites. They're divided into different schools/teams (8 so far) and range in power level from 1 -> BOSS. I'd love to add to it so I'm all ears if you'd like to see anything in particular. Cheers! itchabop.itch.io/monsters-wit... #pixelart #gameassets

If you enjoy Zelda-likes (like what I'm working on!), then definitely check out Tunic if you haven't already! It's one of my favorite games
