I have a working theory that the dehumanizing of the homeless in cities is a gateway drug which helps leads to ICE sweeps, police shooting rubber bullets into crowds, etc. once the homeless are a menace who need to be destroyed, not people squeezed out by housing costs, something is lost, morally.

Why would "feet tingle enough to keep me awake" be seasonal? We switched to summer sheets, viscose percale instead of fleecy. I use a fleecy flat sheet still because the light smooth slitheriness of viscose on my legs triggered a "something touched my legs" kick reflex. So only viscose fitted.
