Godot specifically has an asset "store" where you can download "tech demos" and just mess around with it. could be a cool way to learn too

yeah the "I don't know what I still don't know" is one of the most frustrating stages of it.
I do believe that even hitting your head against the wall in this case can still result in you making some breakthroughs though. Follow some tuts, try to do it again without help, read the docs, etc

I had a similar phase later when I tried to be a "geek", watching movies and shows and other pop culture stuff (like LoTR). I remember going to three comic cons, being bored as shit bc it's just advertisements for shit I don't care about and pretending I was loving it.

Back on my teen years I tried to convince myself that I was an otaku for some reason. It was years after years forcing myself to binge anime shows, feeling like it was a chore, and still telling myself I was doing it because I was enjoying it bc I was an otaku
