Really snide, disdainful editorial on the BBC news app about Meghan's new Netflix series. That's not news, BBC, that's just mean. Are you the propaganda arm of the RF now?

I don't know who these journalists hang out with. All this 'be a bigot to win over the working class' nonsense . People I know who would be considered as working class are some of the most left wing people I've met

Excellent. Thank you, Mr Starmer for showing an example of statesmanship and friendship.

The talk in Europe is “how to get a seat at the table.” Respectfully, that’s the wrong question. The right question is, “how can Europe build a new table.”

They are arguing, endlessly, that illegally inciting acts of terror online is ‘free speech’ while silencing dissent, targeting journalists & telling an invaded ally what he is & is not allowed to say during a live television broadcast are all fine.

Zelensky is a total hero. Trump/Vance? Total zeros.

Jeez, Trump and his cronies are such bullies. Poor Zelensky. I can't watch it. I don't recall Trump shouting at and humiliating Putin in this manner.

If you want to do something about *all this*, then one thing you can do is support the endangered species called fearless independent journalism. My copy of @bylinetimes.bsky.social dropped onto my doormat today and it's one of the high points of my month

Love this! 😂 DIVA DOWN

Russia is right there Jeremy Clarkson go whenever you feel like it.

I wonder, because of the completely broken media these days, whether Americans have any clue about the chaos they have unleashed on the world, and their complete loss of status

Surround yourself with the kind of people who find the Oxford comma to be illuminative, beautiful, and necessary.

Trans and non-binary individuals were there at the Stonewall Riots. This is the erasure of us from history as well as in the present. We exist, have always existed. abcnews.go.com/US/transgend...

Nothing says avoiding an existential crisis like bringing back a leader whose entire government resigned en masse rather than serve another day under him

Signed. Please add your name too.

This is such a weird dynamic. Musk has some hold over him - he would never allow someone else to hold court in HIS office, not least with their bolshy child in tow.

It's appalling that the king and rf have not wished the GB Invictus team well. It makes them look petty & tbh, pretty pathetic. Prancing about in unearned uniforms pretending to care about the military, but can't support our injured veterans competing in an international competition. Hypocrites.

This is awful.

Why is nobody talking about this?

The other thing I miss soo much about the Liverpool of my youth is the department stores. Particularly George Henry Lees. Which was the epitome of shopping class.

I visited Liverpool Central Library (aka Brown Library) last week, for the first time in probably 20yrs. I spent a lot of time there as a child and then as a student. It is so different inside now, all glass and open plan. I hate it.

“Despite all the noise, the issue is primarily one of management. So far, Starmer has proved highly effective at this. It is not inspiring. Of course it isn’t. But it is probably the only viable avenue open to him. How long he can keep this approach up is another matter.”

I know the Grenfell families aren't happy, but I can't help but feel that demolition of the tower is the right thing to do. The building can't be safe in its current state, and a proper lasting memorial should be created to those who died. Something that will stand for many years to come.

I remember watching Star Wars as a kid and asking myself, who would voluntarily join the dark side? I understood Darth Vader's motivation, but not the stormtrooper's.

Having watched with growing alarm the developments of the last 24 and 36 hours in Washington, I thought I’d take a stab at how the US media would cover this story if it was happening in a foreign country. Here’s that story that should be written this weekend: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/musk-s-jun...

I love when words turn out to be older than they seem. Like: Jane Austen could have known what an android was. People you're allowed to imagine, without violence to historical possibility, having brunch: John Ruskin, Queen Victoria, Thomas Hardy

Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks: "We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people....Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us."

Quick reminder that if you see a headline from a source you’ve never heard of that isn’t being reported by anyone else, you really should do some due diligence before spreading it around as fact. There’s enough misinformation floating around already; no need to add more.
