Great to see Atmospheric Chemists on the list @reobrien.bsky.social and @jacquirickard.bsky.social 😁

Community health centers are now starting to shut down across the country because of Trump’s executive orders. These centers serve 1-in-5 rural patients in America.

Recently I have found myself listening to a lot of Rage Against The Machine, Prophets of Rage & Public Enemy. I wonder why?! #mood

This will be a very useful seminar for all of our colleagues and friends who have been impacted by the recent fires. Please let people know.

This is an interview with colleagues from JPL on what happened to them as they escaped the Eaton fire. Truly terrifying and heartbreaking. This happened to so many of our friends my heart goes out to them, words fail me. app.frame.io/presentation...

Not sure who got this picture, but this was JPL last night, yikes that is close!

View from our front garden of the Eaton fire at sunrise. JPL is under a mandatory evacuation order and we have had to escape to downtown LA. One of our trees fell into the neighbours house last night too. Thankfully they are fine. What a night!

I am not sure if this is good or bad !?

Sunset in Pasadena tonight, photo by my lovely wife @rburke.bsky.social

2024 JPL Christmas decoration. Loving the Europe Clipper theme 🧪

Tonight’s dinner Milk Streets’s Neapolitan Meatballs with Ragù. Pretty tasty even if I do say myself.

So my plane back from the #AGU24 had to make an emergency landing at Indianapolis… the adventures never end.

It is almost the end of the AGU, we made it! Don’t forget to come along to the lab session today at 10:20 #AtmosChem

Been to talks today at #AGU24 on Venus, Asia-Aq and exolpanets: what is the link between them all? Whether it is on Earth or 23 light years away it is all about the photochemistry 🤯 science.nasa.gov/astrophysics...

Christmas decorations up and off to the Montrose Christmas Parade.

ACM finally underway. John Orlando is giving a great plenary talk on mechanism development and linking lab to field measurements #AtmosChem 🧪

Sunset last night in La Crescenta. My photo doesn’t do the colours justice.

I should have used #AtmosChem, doh! I am slowly learning how to use Bluesky properly.....

acm.aqrc.ucdavis.edu/events/acm-c... Off to the Atmospheric Chemical Mechanisms conference today, I am looking forward to what looks like an exciting set of talks 🧪

I may have found my favourite street in Venice Beach. It made me think of my mentors, Mario Molina, and Richard Wayne. Thankful for their guidance and friendship. Sadly no longer with us.

Happy Thanksgiving, I am very thankful to have the most beautiful family and the weather in LA isn’t bad either ;-)

A graphic depiction helps make clear that Trump has no “mandate.” One of the narrowest popular vote wins in history.

Ouch, a picture of the traffic on the 210 now, tomorrow is going to be bad. I am sooo glad we are staying home for thanksgiving.

Lovely hike in Descanso with Ruby today, it almost feels autumnal in LA 🍂🍁

🧪Come to JPL, be a NASA NPP fellow I said. Little did Charlie know 🤣

Summer UK temperatures have warmed faster than global average temperature. But the very hottest days have warmed 4x faster than the global average, especially in south-east England. Global warming is not "just" 1°C or 2°C. The effects of climate change are non-linear, especially for extremes.

What a horrible day again, 2nd time this year. Slowly finding out which of our colleagues have been let go, we have lost some good people from the Science Division today 🧪😢 💔 www.space.com/nasa-jpl-lay...

At the exoplanets in our own backyard conference in Louisville today. Hoping to learn a few things and start new collaborations 🧪
