Bread & circuses" is a phrase that refers to the Roman Empire's use of free food & entertainment to keep the populace distracted and politically passive. It is often used today to describe when people willingly give up their democratic freedoms in exchange for short-term solutions-DOGE dividend!

Infuriating! 😡 Don’t Cut My Medicaid! The majority of my son’s medical team are in Austin (1.5 hr drive), some in Houston (3 hrs), one in Dallas (5 hrs). Telehealth appts are needed & necessary! My son has extreme car anxiety, not to mention wear and tear on our car, gas! 🤬 And we’re not alone!
