I’m going to create an app called That Guy, to help old people watch movies. You tap a button marked “Is that the same guy?” And it will say, “Yes. This is the guy you saw buying a ticket in the first scene.” Or “Nope, different guy. This is the first time we’ve seen him.”

My airplane seat, acting like we have some kind of relationship

Wow, nothing gets me off to.a good start more than waking up to an email from my mother with the subject heading "The World."

Which Schoolhouse Rock episode did all these people miss?

Ohhh, I see where I've gone wrong with my crossword puzzle. Apparently, Shelley never wrote a poem called "Tom Skylark."

What to do if I find the perfect gift for my dog, but it can't arrive by the 25th, she'll be devastated

Just watched the series finale of What We Do In The Shadows. What a glorious show.

There's a little song that I sing sometimes to my dog on the porch, when she's feeling scared about going for a walk. My husband just suggested that maybe it should be "an inside song" so I don't get a reputation among the neighbors. Dog and I are very insulted.

My favorite-ever misheard Christmas lyrics, courtesy of my kids when they were younger, are Frosty the Snowman's "two eyes made out of cold" and Silent Night's "holy imbecile, tender and mild."

Can't wait to read @paulawhyman.bsky.social's new book! It's out in January!

My husband discovered that you can ask an AI bot to write something in the style of Carolyn Parkhurst. It's great, not weird or unsettling at all.

Guys, this is from EW's list of the most devastating TV cancellations of 2024, AND I HAVE NEVER FELT SO SEEN

I guess if there's any personal lesson to be learned from this week, it would be: Try to live your life in such a way that millions of strangers don't publicly celebrate your death.

Regarding the astounding news about anesthesia from BCBS: In 2005, I had a c-section where the anesthesia didn't completely take, for some reason. Not the birth experience I'd imagined. I love my daughter, but good lord. 1/10, would not recommend.
