The Rabbi responded " What should I be perfect? Of course, I tried bacon once. But let me ask you did you ever break your vow of celibacy?" The priest blushed and said "I am ashamed to say I once succumbed to temptation" The Rabbi answered "It's better than bacon, isn't it"

I'm still very new to sourdough myself but my successful loaf is about 71% hydration: 500 grams flour 350 grams water 50 grams starter 10-15 grams salt Maybe one day I'll be able to handle a higher hydration but the above worked well for me.

The loaf on the left had 50 grams more. It was too wet.

Yeah. She specializes in hats. Patterns are on the pricier side but excellently written, and plenty of info if there is a unique technique she's using.

I like tans personally. I feel like the wider crown better frames the face than a beanie and the crown shaping is really pretty. Highly recommend any Wooly Wormhead pattern.

Same. Although this doesn't appear to be the same type of parasitic PE that took down JoAnn. But, losing another dependent yarn retailer, this kind of industry consolidation is rarely good for consumers in the long run.

It's not gate keeping to note that people who don't have sufficient knowledge of a topic - in this case different top down sweater constructions - are likely to pass down insufficient knowledge. The hobbyist will have an easier time reading the pattern if they have a good base of knowledge

I don't think you're part of the problem. There's nothing wrong with not knowing everything about every aspect of knitting. I love knitting because there's also something new to learn.

I think there are limits to what one beginner can teach another. And though it's fair point about translating terms, it's also true that what inspired my post was from English as a first language speakers.

I think the internet can be a great resource but when first learning it's hard to discern a knowledgeable source from a less knowledgeable one.
