Buried in a Senate budget bill is a massive giveaway to corporate developers and fossil fuel companies. It forces the sale of at least 2 million acres of Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management land in 11 Western states *every 60 days* until millions of acres are gone.

I also am curious about the remodeling impacts and that Cleveland, which was in TERRIBLE condition 5 years ago when I had students there, still isn't fully secure in getting any work done. I have zero idea on how that ties into the dual enrollment discussion

I just keep thinking of my very good career Marine friend (now retired) who's most proud thing was supporting tsunami relief in Thailand. I agree: at what point do the Marines say No.

Dividing protestors into "good" and "bad" is what the state wants us to do. Rowdy and peaceful protestors learning how to coexist and develop strategies that dovetail with one another is what threatens power.

There's no street seating anywhere near this corral, other than the fully closed-to-cars block on Clinton.

I'd put weird zig zag gates at major intersections that vehicle drivers need to negotiate (had this thought entering Willamette Park from Macadam crossing the trolley tracks last night).

Oh absolutely. I push back on my own anxieties and absurdities around this topic All The Time.

So much subtlety in this conversation. But one thing that hit me when we moved here & reminds me every time we visit Honolulu is how I really don't see the Aunties & Uncles integrated into the social fabric here like Oahu. It's cultural in more ways than one.

So maybe we actually do all kinda live in bubbles of our own making. And as long as those bubble walls can bend and get bigger and not break and move as needed, well that's ok....

Turns out the past two years of recruiting has resulted in a group that is all about the party and less about what it means to actually care for each other. Including pledging a member of the IDF (that's when The Boy stopped spending free time at the house) 3/

The Boy rushed a frat his first year, surprising us all. But it was the post-lockdown community he needed. He is now part of a core friend group of 4 solid men that just thrill me when I see them together. I've also noticed he's really drawn back from frat life in the past year so I asked 2/
