Santa Monica is both doing not enough and much of it is in formerly red-lined neighborhoods. But also compared to many other jurisdictions...

The Sacramento vibes are going to be sublime. Home field advantage when the As are adapted to playing in 110 summer heat and the other teams wilt.

I want them to occupy the House and Senate floors for as long as possible using procedural obstructions until the constitutional crisis ends, while also encouraging mass rallies, direct action.
What they are doing now is 99% business as usual opposition party work.

Yep. We have a big numbers problem. The housing market is so massive. But $10B feels like a big number emotionally. But it’s teeny in the context of the overall affordability equation.

Total home value across California is like $10,000,000,000,000. If it increases 3% YoY that’s $10,300,000,000,000. Another $300B. I don’t think another $10B over several years is going to feel like it’s making a dent.

The California high-speed rail project is very, very much under construction: buildhsr.com/map/
Enormous works of infrastructure along the line are completed or almost done buildhsr.com/projects/
What's the federal plan? Just let these investments go to waste?

Imagine you have to make a $50 purchase for office supplies. You can use a credit card, and the cost is $50
OR
You can get prior permission, and complete a bunch of forms. Then the cost includes plus your time and the time of the person processing the forms. A $50 purchase now costs $200.

My pitch to advocacy groups and Democratic elected officials is turning the Capitol into a 24/7 vigil for democracy until Musk is out and they start following court orders, at a minimum.
Hold max floor time, take turns going back home and host people impacted by the firings and budget cuts.

Looks nice. I’m not handy but maybe it needs a new motor? That seems solvable given the abundance of Sony parts.

Today I saw the snowcapped peaks north of LA from Long Beach.
In the '70s I recall staying at my aunt and uncle's in Pomona -- about 35 miles closer to the mountains -- and never being able to see any portion of them for months on end because of the smog.
