So far everything terrible thing that has happened has been blown off at first by comfortable men saying the rest of us are overreacting. Decades of it now.

We had a lovely evensong for St. Scholastica tonight, and my friend who organized preached a faithful and timely homily. after we stood around, still vested, talking about how much we love church and being in a community of church nerds.

I think she struck exactly the tone she needed to in the right time and place. Any anger or brimstone would be firestarter for a media excited beyond measure to have their outrage generator back in office. She had to be impeccable, right on the gospel message, and safely mainline. Brava.

We’re Anglicans, and part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. It’s just for a while during the American Revolution the word Anglican was…unpopular. (Dramatic oversimplification)
