Just Platinumed Kingdom Hearts 3 on Crit, because I needed the hope and cheese that is “my friends are my power” but through self-flagellation apparently 😂 But that’s aged like wine, that one 👀 Hearts being connected seems less trite a message these days ❤️❤️❤️❤️

These are mad cool!! Was there anything you used as design inspiration? 🤩🤩🤩

As an old music theatre queen, I have thoughts on a few *choices*, but hell if the production design isn’t unequivocally good. Whoever stood up in pre-prod and said “what if: Lazy Susan choreography but on the y-axis” needs to share their wisdom with the world.

Ooohhhh that’s fun! I do the same thing for a one-shot of amnesiac mind-flayers: “countless thin black tendrils protrude from the creature’s skull” 👀

And y’know, fair *I guess*. But I can’t say “Atmospheric Library” has been a significant influence in my life outside like 3-9am.

It’s the right time of year — I’m re-downloading the online game on a whim

I also read “Jorgé”, so maybe that’s the other Mapusaurus? 😅

‘Old sport’ tho — what sports are you playing, huh? 👀

I don’t know if this helps, but a piece of advice I credit to Troy Hunter is imagining your short story like a single song. Structurally, songs have a little bit of setup through the verses, hit their main theme with the chorus, and loop back around to that core idea. Self-contained and focused.

Also, much googling will be done, of course, but some hive-mind expertise is always appreciated! 🙏 Thank you in advance to any that contribute 😊 I’m a terrible replier because social media makes me itch, but I’m trying to get better!

Mini-pitch: I’m looking to do a specific kind of gamelit, where systems are included somewhere in the process? Think Forgotten Realms/Dragonlance/Cyberpunk, but if the rules came with the novel. Is there an interest in that, do we think? (Any recs that do this specifically are appreciated)

If something like this does work, how does one get started? Do you need to build a following in another social media environment, or are there governmental or publishing streams in place that can support this? I live in Australia, but literary magazines to be quite global, so any anecdote is welcome

Is this something that works only for certain stories or creators? LitRPGs are quite specific in their genre conventions, obviously aiming for the isekai/light novel enjoyers.

What are the pitfalls? I’m imagining already an expectation to write chapter-by-chapter, not being able to go back and edit if something would work better later. Or would you write the novel in advance, then release it?

How common is this model? And is it looked on favourably, both in terms of ethics and whether it can support a writer over their writing period?

Honestly, not that far off, but the insane thing is that’s just a small portion of it 👀 The midpoint especially sticks in my mind 😉

I just managed to find a copy of The Gone-Away World by Nick Harkaway, one I’d personally forgot existed ever since losing my copy in a move. But I remember naming it as one of my favourites all throughout my upper teens, so keen to see if it holds up!
